Call of Duty and Its Run with Microsoft

The news behind Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard was massive for the gaming community, particularly as one of the gaming company's top franchises, Call of Duty, has long been a PlayStation-centered game. Sony and many gamers were initially against this, but it was previously assured by Xbox's Phil Spencer that it would stay on the PlayStation despite the acquisition.

Completing the acquisition deal in the second half of 2023 sparked initial rumors about Call of Duty's future arrival on the Xbox Game Pass as it was reportedly what the company is considering. However, it was clarified by Xbox boss,Phil Spencer, that 2023 is not the year that Microsoft will offer Activision Blizzard games in the Xbox Game Pass, but for later.

Massive speculations behind Call of Duty's arrival on the Xbox Game Pass were massive, particularly as the company may do so as it owns the gaming company behind it. That time is now, as Microsoft announced the latest COD game available to access via the Xbox Game Pass, available on specific tiers only, ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's release.
