Vivo's sub-brand iQoo has confirmed that it will be launching its Z9s series in India this August as teased by the sub-brand's India CEO Nipun Marya.

Even though iQoo has only referred to the iQoo Z9s series, we may still anticipate at least two variants. The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset-equipped iQoo Z9 Lite 5G was introduced a few days before the announcement.

Through an X post, CEO of iQoo India Nipun Marya hinted at the iQoo Z9s series' arrival in India. Marya said that it will be introduced in August, although she did not provide a precise debut date. The post displays the phone's back design.

It has a ring-shaped LED light and a rectangular-shaped back camera module that houses three cameras. Every iQoo Z9 phone released to date has two back cameras.

Similar to the iQoo Z9 5G and iQoo Z9x 5G, which were introduced in India during the first half of this year, is the rear design of the iQoo Z9s. It is anticipated that at least the iQoo Z9s and iQoo Z9s Pro models will be part of the future range.

When the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model of the vanilla iQoo Z9 5G was first released, it cost Rs. 19,999. The 4GB+128GB RAM and storage variant of the iQoo Z9x 5G costs Rs. 12,999.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC powers the iQoo Z9x 5G, whereas the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 5G SoC powers the iQoo Z9 5G. The twin rear 50-megapixel cameras on both phones have 44W rapid charging.

India's Smartphone Landscape

While iQoo proves to be pushing well into India's smartphone market, Apple still proves to be thriving in the country as per a recent report.

According to the article, which cites people with knowledge of the situation, iPhones were a major factor in the sales boom and accounted for more than half of Apple's total income in India.

This is consistent with Apple's plan to concentrate on selling high-end smartphones in the expanding Indian market.

In addition to focusing on Indian consumers, Apple is forging a significant manufacturing footprint there. According to earlier reports from sources, Apple produced $14 billion worth of iPhones in India during the previous fiscal year; this figure is anticipated to increase.

By diversifying its manufacturing base outside of China, the iPhone maker can reduce the risks linked with geopolitical tensions.

Apple in India

The rapidly expanding smartphone industry in India presents Apple with substantial development prospects. Though inexpensive Android smartphones presently dominate the Indian market, where Apple currently has a relatively modest proportion (about 3.5%), the future looks bright for Indian consumers as their spending power continues to rise.

Apple still has challenges in India despite its quick expansion. The most popular operating system is still Android, and many Indian buyers may not be able to afford expensive iPhones. To meet these issues, Apple might concentrate on growing its retail presence and providing appealing financing choices.
