Speculations behind the Meta AR Glasses saw another massive spark as an internet sleuth was able to spot a pair of odd-looking spectacles on Mark Zuckerberg's months-old post. It is known that Meta is developing a "true" pair of AR Glasses that would arrive in the future, with the company pushing it back because of its focus on Quest's VR and mixed-reality wearables.
There is much more to look forward from Meta regarding its wearables, particularly as a slated Meta Connect event will take place soon.
Meta's AR Glasses? New Tech Spotted from Mark Zuckerberg
A post from Mark Zuckerberg from April is now the focus of internet sleuths after one sharp-eyed online user took a screenshot of the Meta CEO's desk which shows what possibly could be Meta's AR Glasses. Here, the photo depicts chunky eye glasses which are transparent, and they are not one's regular prescription lenses or cosmetic accessories.
While it does not have any clear distinctions, it was speculated to be the Meta AR Glasses, according to The Verge, and this specific post from the Threads user has now sparked conversations behind it.
It remains unknown what these glasses are, but speculations claim that these may be the "true" AR Glasses that Meta previously promised, known to be under secret development.

Instead of ignoring the post, Zuckerberg replied to the user regarding the unknown wearable, saying that they would share more information about it later this year. While Zuck did not reveal any intricate details or specific information about it, the said "later" was speculated to be on the upcoming Meta Connect event that will take place later this September, one that would talk about VR and XR.
Meta's AR Glasses Developments
Years ago, Meta released its first version of AR glasses, but it was not quite capable of offering augmented reality, and it is the notable Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses that can record photos and video. It is the first iteration of Meta's collaboration with Ray-Ban, offering a way for users to capture media and directly upload it to Instagram and other social media platforms.
Earlier this year, the companies refreshed their wearable to what is now known as the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, now offering different styles and more colors to choose from.
Despite these wearable's potential, it is not quite the AR glasses that the world is looking for, with various reports claiming that Meta is developing this.
Last year, it was revealed that Meta's development of its first augmented-reality wearable was delayed for a much later date, with 2027 being its target arrival of the new shades.
Another piece of information was squeezed out of Zuckerberg because of the eagle-eyed online user who spotted what seems to be an AR Glasses prototype, with details coming soon, speculated for the Meta Connect 2024.
