It is only several weeks before the Made by Google event which will deliver the Pixel 9 lineup this August. Still, a new report now suggests the availability of its devices, particularly with its new foldable. The next to Google's expanding device will be under its mainline release, now called the Pixel 9 Pro Fold which would only be released to 10 countries in total.
All in all, the Pixel smartphone lineup is only sold in 23 countries for the regular variants, with the foldable seeing more limited availability.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is Coming to 10 Countries Only
The latest spotting (via 9to5Google) on Google's regional availability where the new foldable was teased, that there would only be 10 countries that will get the chance to purchase the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It is the renowned successor of its original foldable device, previously speculated to be the Pixel Fold 2, with the device made part of the Pixel's regular-numbered main series.
On its website, Google listed these countries only for Pixel's availability, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
However, it is important to note that this is not yet official, as Google may announce expanded availability come its August 13 Made by Google event.
Why is Pixel 9 Pro Fold Seeing Limited Availability?
According to the report, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be seeing limited availability but the reason behind it remains unknown. It is also important to note that for the Pixel 9 Pro, Google listed 23 countries to which it would be sold, but it is not all of the previous regions where Pixel was made available.
The Upcoming Pixel 9 Series and Its Foldable
Like other Android smartphone developers and manufacturers, Google is among those who are planning to bring regular developments for its foldable developments, with its first one centering on the Pixel Fold. That being said, there was uncertainty if Google would follow it up with the Pixel Fold 2, the supposed successor to it, with previous reports speculating that it would be delayed should it use the Tensor G4.
Many reports and speculations said that Google's foldable would no longer standalone as its product as the company would integrate it among the regular numbered Pixel releases. This is with the Pixel 9 series that was announced earlier this July for an event come mid August where it would showcase the latest from the lineup, built around its new SoC.
Earlier today, Google confirmed its new lineup for smartphones, with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold teased via a short video, asking users to wait for its much-awaited Made by Google event. Despite the massive hype behind the new foldable, Google would reportedly offer the Pixel 9 Pro Fold to ten countries only, US included, versus the regular flat smartphones available in 23 countries.
