To celebrate the upcoming Marvel movie Deadpool & Wolverine, Microsoft is bringing everyone's favorite Merc with a Mouth to the world of gaming - with a hilarious twist.
Would you believe that the newly-released Xbox controller is shaped like Wade Wilson's ass?
The "Cheeky Controller": A Deadpool-Themed Collector's Item
The centerpiece of this collaboration is the outrageous "Cheeky Controller," an Xbox Wireless Controller modeled after Deadpool's infamous posterior.
Microsoft playfully describes the controller as channeling "Deadpool's buns of steel in its firm (yet surprisingly comfortable) grip."
Unfortunately, this cheeky controller isn't available for purchase. Instead, Microsoft is giving it away as a competition prize, as stated on its blog.
Fans aged 18+ worldwide can enter for a chance to win by following Xbox on social media and retweeting the official sweepstakes post.
Beyond the Cheeky Controller: More Deadpool Swag for Gamers
The Deadpool x Xbox collaboration extends beyond the controller. Here are some additional goodies fans can snag:
- Limited-Edition Cable Guys Deadpool Controller Holder: The first 1,000 customers who purchase an Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 - Core from the Microsoft Store on July 22 will receive a free exclusive Cable Guys Deadpool Controller Holder.
- Custom Deadpool-Themed Xbox Series X: This ultimate collector's item features a custom Deadpool-inspired design and a stand with foam replicas of Deadpool's katanas, along with two Xbox Wireless Controllers. Just like the Cheeky Controller, this prize is only available through a separate competition.
Deadpool & Wolverine: A Movie Set to Reignite the MCU?
While the limited-edition Xbox gear is undoubtedly eye-catching, the real star of the show is the upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine, IGN reports. The latest teaser trailer offered a glimpse of Lady Deadpool and other Deadpool Corps members making their big-screen debut.
With the promise of over-the-top humor and action, Deadpool & Wolverine has the potential to be the movie that reignites the MCU as it enters Phase 5. We'll have to wait until the film's release on July 26 to see if it lives up to the hype.
Deadpool & Wolverine also reached Call of Duty MW3 in the latest leak. As Tech Times wrote earlier this month, it would be the next crossover for the first-person shooter title.
As rumored, the two popular mutants will feature a unique finishing move once they arrive in the game. Deadpool will allegedly boast three finishing moves while Logan the Wolverine will have two finishing moves.
If that is true, Marvel fans will have a reason to jump on the Call of Duty hype train. Other than that, the game has previously brought interesting collaborations including The Boys crossover which introduced Homelander, A-Train, and other characters.
