Astrobiologist Rhawn Joseph sues NASA for not telling world it found alien fungus on Mars

Could Mars be home to alien life? It is possible, at least according to self-described scientist Rhawn Joseph.

Recently, Nasa's Curiosity rover took two pictures of the Martian surface. The two images were similar as they were taken 12 days apart. However, despite the similarities, the second image had one slight difference that confused both NASA and the world at large. Missing from the first image was a supposed "rock" seen in the second image. How did it get there? It's a mystery for now, as NASA has only released the pictures with little or no explanation, and prefers to just call it a rock.

At first, scientists were taken aback by the discovery, though soon after they claimed it was merely a rock that was knocked out of the ground by the rover. However, Rhawn Joseph is buying none of this.

Joseph has, in fact, sued NASA for failing to properly investigate alien life. He believes the rock was there all along, but grew over the space of 12 days. Basically, what Josephs is saying is that this so-called rock is actually an alien fungus.

The suit against NASA requires the space agency to "perform a public, scientific, and statutory duty," according to the court filings posted on Scribd. Furthermore, the lawsuit claims that NASA needs to "closely photograph and thoroughly scientifically examine and investigate a putative biological organism."

"The refusal to take close up photos from various angles ... to take microscopic images of the specimen ... to release high resolution photos, is inexplicable, recklessly negligent, and bizarre," says Josephs in his suit against NASA.

Joseph now wants NASA Administrator Charles Bolden and his rover team, to take 100 high resolution photos of the specimen from all sides and under appropriate lighting conditions. After which, the photos should be sent for him to analyze.

The following is what Joseph requests from NASA:

"Petitioner has specifically requested and has demanded in writing the following of NASA, NASA's chief administrator Bolden, and NASA's rover team: A) take 100 high resolution close-up infocus photos of the specimen identified in Sol 3540, at various angles, from all sides, and from above down into the "bowl" of the specimen, and under appropriate lighting conditions which minimize glare. B) Take a minimum of 24 microscopic in-focus images of the exterior, lip, walls, and interior of the specimen under appropriate lighting conditions. C) NASA, and the rover team must make public and supply Petitioner with all high resolution photos and images of that specimen as demanded in A and B."

This isn't the first time we've heard about alien life being spotted on Mars. UFO hunters have examined several photos taken by the Curiosity rover, and have come up with their own conclusion of what they believe to be extraterrestrial life. However, NASA has not commented on these findings.

One such finding is a picture of something flying over Mars. It could have likely been a comet, but UFO hunters believe it to be an alien spaceship.

Meanwhile, NASA continues to say that the object is nothing more than a rock, albeit a special rock.

"It looks like a jelly doughnut, white around the outside, red in the middle," said Steve Squyres, the principal investigator of the Mars Exploration Rovers. "We have looked at it with our microscope. It is clearly a rock," he said.

Squyres, however, acknowledged that it is a strange rock because it has a "weird deep red color, not a Martian kind of red."

An analysis of the rock shows a "strange composition, different from anything we have seen before," he told reporters at a press briefing. Opportunity's spectrometer has revealed the rock to contain a lot of sulphur, and very high concentrations of manganese and magnesium.

"We are still working this out. We are making measurements right now. This is an ongoing story of discovery," Squyres said.
