'Shot on iPhone' Films Are Here to Stay

The trend began with Olivia Rodrigo's music video for "get him back!", shot entirely on the iPhone 15 Pro.

Before the iPhone 15 Pro model came last year, the iPhone 13 Pro was able to shoot a short film. Park Chan-Wook, the brilliant director behind "Oldboy" decided to see if Apple's handset could magically shoot a clip.

The Cupertino later shared the behind-the-scene videos taken by an iPhone 13.

The Future of iPhone Filmmaking

Rumors suggest Apple has even bigger camera upgrades planned for the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup, particularly for the Pro and Pro Max models.

Anticipate advancements like an enhanced Ultra Wide camera, further improved low-light performance for the Main camera, 5x optical zoom across both models and a dedicated "Capture" button.

While the iPhone 16 Pro is yet to come, MacRumors reported that Ming-Chi Kuo has the latest say about the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The popular tipster claimed that it will be the first model to boast three 48MP cameras.

We can surmise that the iPhone maker wants to make the future iPhones film-friendly and ready. If the iPhone 15 Pro Max can shoot a short film, we could imagine that the upcoming models are capable of finishing an hour-long movie or even a series.
