Ice and Snow Theme Park in Harbin City, China

Harbin City has debuted the world's largest indoor ice and snow theme park, certified by Guinness World Records. The park, renowned for its expansive scale and technological innovation, maintains temperatures as low as 14.0 °F.

Created over nearly a month by 10,000 artisans, the park features intricate ice and snow sculptures across nine themed sections. Global Times reported that visitors can engage with 13 interactive projects enhanced by state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and interactive technologies.

Lifelike ice sculptures adorned with vibrant lighting add to the park's immersive ambiance. The recently opened ice park, which spans 23,800 square meters, attracted over 3,000 visitors on its first day.

It maintains temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius and aims to transform Harbin into a year-round resort destination. Its debut coincided with a heat wave in Harbin, where outdoor temperatures soared above 29 degrees Celsius (84 F).

Despite coming from a hometown where temperatures exceed 30 degrees Celsius, visitors like Yu traveled over 2,000 kilometers north to experience the unique and cooler environment of the ice sculptures.

The ice park features China's largest indoor ski resort, sprawling across approximately 80,000 square meters and boasting eight snow trails with a vertical drop of up to 80 meters.

Fu Wei, a staff member, shared that the resort accommodated a diverse range of skiers, aged 5 to over 60, with a peak of 3,500 visitors on a single summer day. Last year, the resort welcomed 320,000 tourists, including professional ski teams from Russia, South Korea, and Japan, who use the facility for summer training.

Utilizing 20,000 cubic meters of ice sourced from the Songhua River, the park showcases vibrant ice decorations crafted with intricate designs using state-of-the-art techniques in ice sculpture and snow architecture.

The park's ice sculptures are notably tinted with edible pigments, enhancing their vibrancy while adhering to environmental standards. Among the highlights are sculptures resembling fruits, donuts, ice cream, and cakes, which have garnered attention for their detailed craftsmanship and artistic appeal.

Harbin, renowned for its frigid winters, annually hosts the celebrated Ice and Snow Festival, drawing substantial crowds to attractions like the Harbin Ice-Snow World, which saw over 30,000 visitors daily last winter.

Harbin's grand ice and snow theme park is a testament to human creativity and resilience in harnessing nature's elements for entertainment and wonder. From its stunning ice sculptures to its expansive ski resort, this park embodies the spirit of innovation and artistry, attracting visitors from across the globe.

As Harbin continues evolving into a year-round destination, it will undoubtedly remain a shining example of blending natural beauty with modern entertainment, promising endless adventures every season.
