Tesla owners will be delighted with several new features, including pin-locked parental controls and YouTube music, as the electric vehicle giant has reportedly just released the 2024.26 software update.

The standout elements of the software upgrade are the new parental control capabilities, which allow parents to use a PIN to operate their cars. This entails setting a maximum speed restriction and restricting acceleration to chill.

Furthermore, owners can turn on safety features like the Tesla mobile app's Night Curfew, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Speed Limit Warning to receive notifications when their car exceeds the curfew.

Previously, Tesla cars only included built-in music apps like Spotify, Apple Music, Tune In, and Tidal. However, YouTube Music and Amazon Music are now accessible on Tesla vehicles.

With the latest update, Tesla's navigation systems will also benefit from adding sub-destinations, such as certain airport terminals, for more precise routing information.

Additionally, the manufacturer is updating the status bar on its vehicle center displays with information about the weather and air quality. Additionally, Tesla introduced new methods for scheduling preconditioning and charging. Users may now do this using the Tesla mobile app or the revamped menu.

Users can now designate a spot, plan a one-time event, repeat particular hours or days of the week, and manage the beginning and end of charging.

Tesla Update Release and Past Upgrades

It may take a few weeks for all vehicles that qualify for the upgrade to receive it, but Tesla is currently beginning to roll out the 2024.26 software update to its fleet.

A significant update known as 2024.20 was also released to Tesla owners in June of last year. It improved some Tesla cars' adaptive headlights, air conditioning, and the Beach Buggy leaderboard.

Tesla Cybertruck Accident

More worryingly, the "Cybertruck," one of Tesla's more current and well-known vehicles, recently met its match in an accident close to Vicksburg, Mississippi; this was one of the first documented incidents involving the electric pickup.

The event emphasizes the peculiar conditions that can cause even a vehicle known for its stability to overturn, though specifics are still scarce.

It makes sense that as Tesla continues to increase Cybertruck deliveries, there will be more sightings on the road. This, in turn, means that there will undoubtedly be more accidents, as demonstrated by recent recalls involving more than 11,000 Cybertrucks driven on American highways.

This specific crash is peculiar since the Cybertruck lands upside down. Due to the battery pack's location, Tesla cars are renowned for having a low center of gravity and are notoriously challenging to flip.

The information available indicates that the Cybertruck driver may have missed a turn, although the exact circumstances of the crash are yet unknown.

Most importantly, a steep dirt wall on the left side of the road was a significant factor. This elevated area likely served as a ramp, giving the car the ideal circumstances to flip.

Tesla-related accidents frequently lead to conversations about Autopilot and autonomous driving potential. But that kind of supposition is not applicable here. The Cybertruck still lacks cutting-edge driver-assistance technologies from American automakers.
