When Samsung Display and LG Display got the green light to produce OLED display panels for iPhone 16, Apple knew that a big improvement was coming for the handsets' screens.

As expected, the new M14 OLED screens will be rolling out to the two iPhone 16 Pro models, according to the latest report. With this, we expect to see enhanced brightness for the upcoming smartphones, not to mention the longevity that fans are waiting to see soon.

Both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are getting improved brightness and longevity, thanks to Samsung's OLED display panels, a new report claims.

Previously, it was rumored that the iPhone 16 Pro's display would feature improved brightness.

Apple Insider reported that it was in September 2023 when speculations erupted about Apple's adoption of OLED displays. However, at that time, several reports said that the iPhone maker would use the Micro Lens Array.

Recently, ETNews, a South Korean online newspaper confirmed that the iPhone 16 Pro models will use Samsung's latest M14 screens. These OLED panels incorporate 14 high-performance materials, though specific details remain undisclosed.

Brightness Boost for Better Display

While the recent report does not specify the exact increase in brightness, a separate leak from May 2024 indicated that the iPhone 16 Pro could see an improvement to 1,200 nits, up from the iPhone 15 Pro's 1,000 nits. This increase would provide users with a noticeably brighter and more vibrant display, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

First-Time Use of Samsung's Latest Screens

This will be the first instance of Apple utilizing Samsung's latest generation M14 OLED screens. Interestingly, the electronics giant is also expected to supply the same display model for the Google Pixel 9 series, indicating a broader adoption of this impressive technology in premium smartphones.

When is the iPhone 16 Pro Coming

As Apple traditionally does, releasing iPhones always falls in September. On the other hand, the Google Pixel 9 is confirmed to be coming earlier than the iPhone 16, which is in August.

Larger Displays for Enhanced User Experience

In addition to the upgraded display technology, previous rumors have suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature larger screens compared to their predecessors.

The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to increase its screen size from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max may expand from 6.69 inches to 6.9 inches. These larger displays will provide users with more screen real estate, enhancing both productivity and entertainment experiences.

In other news, Tom's Guide says that Apple will increase iPhone 16 Pro Max's cell density by up to 10%. This means that we will be getting a better battery for the premium iPhone models.

With promises of enhanced brightness and extended longevity, the new Samsung OLED displays are set to improve the experience of future users. The only hanging question left right now is how bright are the new screens for the Max variants.
