SwiftKey Note comes to iOS with Evernote integration

One of the things that most iOS users can agree upon is that the absence of SwiftKey on their devices is a very big loss. Now SwiftKey, in conjunction with Evernote and Apple has finally introduced its lightning-fast keyboard to iOS with the SwiftKey Note app.

SwiftKey Note is a note-taking app with Evernote integration, which features SwiftKey's incredibly accurate predictive keyboard. Unfortunately, the keyboard's functions are limited to the Note app, so you won't be able to use SwiftKey's keyboard while typing emails or text messages like you can with Android. Nonetheless, SwiftKey's Note app has a lot of iOS users excited.

The SwiftKey Note app keeps in tune with the simplistic and elegant design elements of iOS 7. They keyboard looks exactly like iOS 7's new flat UI keyboard, but it offers up rapid-fire suggestions and corrects your mistakes as you type just like the SwiftKey keyboard does when used on an Android device.

"With SwiftKey Note, we've worked closely with Apple and Evernote to bring all of the power of SwiftKey's mind-reading prediction technology to iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users everywhere," SwiftKey Chief Marketing Officer Joe Braidwood said in a statement.

In a brief test, the SwiftKey Note app performed very well on my iPhone 5 and the keyboard had already begun to understand my thought process and typing habits. The keyboard also recognized when I had simply forgotten to hit the space bar while typing and put a space between my words instead of suggesting one random word like the iOS 7 keyboard is wont to do. Needless to say, SwiftKey's suggestions and corrections were much more accurate than those given by my iOS 7 keyboard.

The app's layout is very simple and sparse. If you don't want to use the Evernote integration, you can just use it as a basic note-taking app. It has options for categorizing your posts with tags, sending your notes via email and allows you to put your notes into notebooks. SwiftKey Note is very bare-bones for frequent note-takers, but for the most part, its integration with Evernote solves that problem.

"Pairing SwiftKey's predictive keyboard with Evernote Platform is a transformative experience for creating quick notes," said Evernote's head of developer outreach, Chris Traganos. "We're excited to have SwiftKey Note's two-way sync with Evernote and to build this relationship."

The SwiftKey Note app is already available on the App store for iOS devices. This is the first time the SwiftKey keyboard has been allowed on to Apple devices and could mark the beginning of SwiftKey's integration into other iOS apps.
