Crunchyroll, the popular site for anime, announced Thursday the expansion of its Crunchyroll Game Vault library, adding over a dozen new titles. 

Previously, the Game Vault offered 11 titles exclusively to Mega and Ultimate subscribers. Now, 15 more games are set to join the lineup including Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness and Steins; Gate.

Enhanced Gaming Experience for Crunchyroll Subscribers

Subscribers to Crunchyroll's Mega and Ultimate plans, priced at $10 and $15 respectively, can access these games without ads or in-app purchases at no extra cost. This move enhances the value of their subscriptions and provides a seamless, enjoyable gaming experience.

How to Access Crunchyroll Game Vault

If you're a Mega or Ultimate subscriber, accessing the Crunchyroll Game Vault is simple, according to CNET.

1. Open the Crunchyroll app.
2. Tap on Crunchyroll Game Vault on the homepage.
3. Select the game you wish to download, and you'll be directed to the game's page on either Apple's App Store or the Google Play Store.

Initially, the Game Vault was only accessible to consistent top-tier subscribers. It featured five games, such as the fighting game River City Girls and the puzzle game Inbento. Over time, more titles like Hime's Quest and ExZeus: The Complete Collection were added, steadily growing the library.

Crunchyroll is Not the Only Streaming Service to Join Gaming Trend

Crunchyroll is the latest video streaming service to integrate gaming into its subscription offerings. 

Netflix set a precedent by offering games to its members in 2021. However, unlike Netflix, where all subscribers have access to games, Crunchyroll restricts Game Vault access to its Mega and Ultimate plans, excluding the Fan tier.

At the moment, you can play Dawn of the Monsters, Evan's Remains, and Battle Chasters: Nightwars. Here are the upcoming games you can access soon.

This award-winning sci-fi visual novel follows students who discover a technology that lets them alter the past. Known for its emotional depth, Steins;Gate was voted one of the most tear-inducing games by Japanese video game outlet Famitsu.

'The Quintessential Quintuplets: Memories of a Quintessential Summer'

This lighthearted romantic comedy is a visual-novel-style game where a fun trip turns into a survival adventure after a storm. It's akin to a summer beach read in gaming form.

'Spidersaurs'

In this side-scrolling run-and-gun title, players battle spider-dinosaur hybrids created to end world hunger. Armed with various weapons, players must eliminate these creatures and restore order.

'RWBY: Arrowfell'

This Metroidvania game allows players to explore the RWBY universe, tackling an increase in Grimm creatures. Written by the show's creators, it includes animated cutscenes and is considered canon within the series.

'Pictoquest'

Combining logic puzzles with RPG elements, Pictoquest challenges players to recover stolen paintings by solving grid-based puzzles. Despite initial complexity, it becomes intuitive with gameplay.

'Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness'

'LunarLux'

Set in the year 30XX, this anime-inspired RPG follows lunar warrior Bella and her robot companion Tetra as they fight to save humanity from a comet. The game includes mysterious monsters and hidden civilizations.

'Magical Drop 6'

The latest in the classic Japanese arcade series, this game involves solving puzzles, embarking on adventures, and competing in multiplayer mode to achieve high scores.

'MMC Kenken - The World's Most Exciting Math and Logic Puzzle'

This game offers over 3,000 puzzles, combining math and logic in a gamified format. Suitable for all ages, it provides a challenging alternative to traditional sudoku puzzles.

On top of upcoming games, Crunchyroll's President says that AI-generated subtitles might be coming soon. Still, it's under development right now.
