AirPods Pro will be more interesting in iOS 18 in the next few months. The iPhone maker's wireless earbuds are expected to bring never-before-seen improvements.

With iOS 18, AirPods Pro will gain a "hearing aid mode," as reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. While AirPods Pro currently offer a Conversation Boost feature that enhances the volume and clarity of speech from people directly in front of the wearer, Apple has not previously marketed them as hearing aids. This new mode will make AirPods Pro a valuable tool for those with hearing impairments.

Personalized Spatial Audio for Gaming

iOS 18 introduces Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking for gaming across AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. This feature delivers the immersive audio experience users have enjoyed while listening to music or watching videos, now extended to gaming.

The Cupertino titan states that AirPods Pro will offer the lowest wireless audio latency ever for mobile gaming. Additionally, gamers will experience improved voice quality, featuring 16-bit, 48kHz audio during team chats and player interactions.

Game developers can also integrate spatial audio into their games, providing a more engaging audio environment. Realistic sounds are what you will find interesting soon.

Hands-free Control with Head Gestures

On top of Hearing Aid Mode and Spatial Audio, Apple is adding innovative head gestures to AirPods Pro, enabling hands-free control without verbal commands.

According to MacRumors, users can nod their heads up and down to answer calls or shake it left to right to decline. Siri Interactions will also support these gestures, allowing users to manage calls, messages, notifications, and more seamlessly.

Granular Adaptive Audio Control

The second-generation AirPods Pro feature Adaptive Audio, which adjusts sound and noise cancellation based on environmental changes.

Currently, this is an all-or-nothing setting, but iOS 18 will introduce a "Customize Adaptive Audio" menu. This new feature allows users to fine-tune the adaptive audio settings, providing more or less noise control based on personal preference.

Enhanced Voice Isolation

iOS 18 brings Voice Isolation to AirPods Pro, enhancing call clarity by reducing background noise. This feature, already available on iPhones, uses machine learning to distinguish and block ambient sounds, such as wind, ensuring that the caller's voice is clear. This improvement makes AirPods Pro even more effective in noisy environments.

The upcoming iOS 18 updates are just one tap away soon. From accessibility improvements like Hearing Aid Mode to advanced gaming audio features and immersive control options, these updates will provide a richer, more immersive audio experience for earbuds lovers.
