Sceptile's Unique Tera Type

While Sceptile is usually a Grass-type, in this Tera Raid event, it will possess the Dragon Tera type, a nod to its Mega Evolution form which combines Grass and Dragon types. This twist adds a layer of strategy for trainers preparing to take it down.

Possible Moveset for Sceptile

Although the exact moveset for Sceptile in this Raid hasn't been confirmed, based on its stats and typing, the following moves are anticipated:

  • Dragon Dance
  • Dragon Pulse
  • Energy Ball
  • Focus Blast
  • Leaf Storm
  • Solar Beam
  • Sunny Day
  • Tera Blast

Sceptile's main strength lies in its Speed, enabling it to execute powerful Special Attacks swiftly. However, its relatively low defenses make it susceptible to well-timed physical attacks.

Top Counters for Sceptile Tera Raid

Flutter Mane

A great choice for countering Sceptile is the Scarlet-exclusive Paradox Pokemon, Flutter Mane. Its Ghost/Fairy typing offers immunities to Dragon, Normal, and Fighting-type attacks, with weaknesses only to Ghost and Steel. Flutter Mane's high Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed make it formidable. Equip it with Pixie Plate, Focus Sash, or Leftovers for optimal performance.

Essential moves include Moonblast for super effective STAB damage, Fake Tears to lower Sceptile's Special Defense, Calm Mind to boost your stats, and Draining Kiss for healing while attacking.

Sylveon

This Fairy Eeveelution is also a good counter against Sceptile. Make sure it has a Modest nature and max its Sp Attack and Sp Def. You can use Shell Bell for its held item. For its moveset, use Calm Mind, Draining Kiss, Fake Tears, and Hyper Beam. Pixilate will do the trick to defeat the dragon-tera monster.

Azumarill

Another good pick is Azumarill. Although it's weak against grass moves, it can hit Sceptile hard thanks to Huge Power. Equip it with Shell Bell and make it Adamant by maxing out its Attack and HP.

Some of its best moves include Play Rough, Belly Drum, Misty Terrain, and Liquidation.
