Apple introduced massive changes to iOS 18 at the last WWDC, but one of the most iconic features is the ability to customize the home screen more, including the dark mode for app icons. Apart from this, Apple also introduced the capability to switch the app icon colors from the iPhone's settings and no longer needs third-party apps to do it for them.
Apple's iOS 18 Dark Mode for App Icons is Coming
One of the top features introduced by Apple for iOS 18 is its massive Customization features, which it revamped for this release of the iPhone operating system. The company went all out for its latest features, which would allow users to tweak their home screens to whatever color or theme they want, offering an overlay of colors to the iconic built-in apps.
However, in addition to the color customization, users may also choose a 'Dark' mode for their app icons, which they could also set for the home screen.
The choices include Automatic Light or Dark mode, Dark mode alone, Light mode throughout, or Tinted, the customized color for the app icons.

According to 9to5Mac, setting up a Customized home screen is easy. Users only need to long-press a blank area on their home screen, similar to how changing the lock screen would be. Tap on Edit at the top left, and choose Customize.
Users may mix and match different color combinations, including a Dark and Tipped mode, but they may also opt for a Tinted mode only or a Dark mode only, depending on their preference.

More particularly, iOS 18 received massive features for the world, particularly with Apple Intelligence and Siri, marking a new era for iPhones.
For those who own the iPhone 14 series and the latest models and future releases from Apple, users will be able to send iMessages via satellite connectivity, and it will no longer matter if the cellular data signal is low or non-existent. Alongside this, massive customization options were also introduced by Apple with iOS 18, particularly with the home screen's layout, color, themes, and more.
The world eagerly awaits the public release of iOS 18, but those who cannot wait for it may opt into Apple's beta program to test what the latest version offers firsthand. One of the top features that beta users enjoy now is the home screen customization; either applying a dark mode colorway to the app icons or centering on a specific tint, iOS 18 has plenty of possibilities.
