Discord Rolls Out Nitro Pass

One of the most notable additions is the Nitro Pass, a feature that allows current Nitro subscribers to gift friends a two-week trial of the service.

Each Discord Nitro member receives three friend passes, which can be shared at any time. This means users can now let their friends experience the perks of Nitro without any cost.

ComicBook describes this new feature as a way for users to "try the service out before completely jumping into the service." The passes will replenish over time, although the exact frequency of these refills has not been specified by Discord developers.

This trial version provides a great opportunity for users to experience Nitro's perks, such as higher quality screen sharing and custom emojis, to their friends.

To share a Nitro pass, users can navigate to DMs > Nitro > Share Nitro or User Settings > Nitro on either the desktop or web apps. Once there, they can select friends who qualify for the trial. For two weeks, the friends can enjoy all Nitro features, enhancing their Discord experience with high-quality streams, custom emojis, and more.

Discord Introduces New App Icons and Color Theme

Customization is a big part of the Discord experience, and the latest update expands these options with four new app icons and a new color theme.

The new icons are "Color Wave," "Midnight Prism," "In Rainbows," and "Blurple Twilight." The latter is also available as a new color theme, giving users a fresh, dark blue aesthetic to match the latest look on Discord's website.

These new customization options are available in User Settings > Appearance on both desktop and mobile. This update allows users to personalize their Discord interface to better reflect their style, whether they prefer vibrant colors or a more subdued theme.

Avatar Decorations and Profile Effects for Discord Nitro Users

Another exciting feature is the ability to assign Avatar Decorations and Profile Effects to specific server profiles. This means that Nitro users can now tailor their avatars and profiles to fit the theme of each server they are part of, adding a unique touch to their interactions.

Since the Discord Shop opened last year, various collections like Galaxy and Lofi Vibes have been available to add flair to user profiles. Now, with the ability to assign these effects per server, users can maintain a distinct identity across different communities.

Subscription Costs

For those interested in joining Nitro, the subscription costs are as follows:

Nitro Basic: $2.99 per month.

Full Nitro: $9.99 per month.

These plans unlock a range of premium features designed to enhance the Discord experience, from custom emojis and larger file uploads to improved streaming quality and the new features outlined above.
