There have been many talks about using Tesla's Cybertruck in the force, but Dubai has made it happen now, showing off new decals for the electric pickup bearing its patrol colors. The Dubai Police General Command showed off the latest addition to its fleet, centering on the futuristic look of the Cybertruck and calling it a 'luxury' electric car.
Dubai residents and visitors can view and take pictures with the Cybertruck patrol car, which will be displayed to the public before it is used for actual service.
Tesla Cybertruck is Now a Police Car in Dubai
A post from the Dubai Police's official Instagram page shows off their latest addition to the fleet, flaunting its Tesla Cybertruck wrapped in its patrol car decals and soon to be used in service. The world can now check out this electric pickup in its law enforcement glory in the Dubai Mall, available for public viewing in front of the Dubai Ice Rink from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM local time.
Instead of the shiny stainless steel body and finish, the public would see it sporting white and green decals featuring the Dubai Police's insignia.
There was also an older post from the Dubai Police showing off the Cybertruck in action, escorting two vehicles behind it, but not in actual squad encounters or response to calls.
Luxury Security Patrol: Cybertruck's Dubai Stint
In its post, the Dubai Police General Command called the Cybertruck a "tourist police luxury patrol fleet," celebrating the addition of clean energy pickup to its lineup. It seems like the Dubai Police owns only one unit of the Cybertruck for now, considering that it is currently sold exclusively in the US, a special import by its government for the force.
Tesla Cybertruck for Law Enforcement
When the Cybertruck was nearing its release, Tesla CEO and co-founder Elon Musk touted its significant features, and at one point, he focused on showing off its security capabilities. There are different variants of the Cybertruck, but all cars have bulletproof bodies thanks to its 3mm steel sheet plating, with an option for a shatterproof window or fully bulletproof glass that cannot be rolled down.
With these massive features of the new electric pickup, online users have talked about using the Tesla Cybertruck as a police cars, which also caught the attention of the Rosenberg Police Department. The department floated the idea of replacing its fleet with Cybertruck units, and Musk responded to this with a '100' emoji, which shows that he supports the idea.
The stock configuration of a bulletproof body and either a shatterproof or bulletproof window already makes the Cybertruck an ideal candidate for a police car, not to mention its rugged specification. With that, Dubai was among the first to make this a reality, now on display for the public, but soon as a tourist, luxury patrol fleet for its police.
