Octopus Energy is now a certified installer of Tesla Powerwall systems in both countries. Customers with installed Tesla Powerwalls can take advantage of special tariffs that allow them to charge their batteries at lower energy prices.
Electrek reported that this process is automated through Kraken, an advanced utility operating system known as the world's largest virtual power plant. It manages more than 1 GW of shiftable power via connected devices.
Customers who use Powerwall batteries can take advantage of Octopus Energy's smart tariffs, such as the "Intelligent Octopus Flux." This tariff optimizes savings by charging batteries when energy prices are low, and selling stored energy back to the grid during peak periods, supporting grid stability.
On average, customers save about $317 annually compared to standard tariffs. Moreover, Tesla Powerwall users contribute to grid stability, benefiting all customers by effectively balancing energy supply and demand.

This year, the company plans to hire up to 4,000 new team members in its UK services division to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. Dedicated customer support teams in both the UK and Spain will facilitate the installation and support of Powerwall systems.
