The game touted as the "most cinematic and immersive story" in the entire franchise was recently unveiled in the Summer Game Fest earlier today, with CAPCOM naming it as Monster Hunter Wilds. The latest game brings forth a new definitive experience for the franchise, with this release marking a significant moment in its history as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Two trailers were shared by CAPCOM in today's reveal, with both showing how it integrates improved narratives for the title, including the first-ever dialogues from Hunter, the player's character.

Additionally, the game was announced for 2025, but no exact release dates were shared by the developers. It will also offer bonuses by importing saved data from Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

What to Expect from CAPCOM's Monster Hunter Wilds

First off, Monster Hunter Wilds will be a multi-platform release for the latest-gen gaming consoles only including Xbox Series S and X, PS5, and PC. Additionally, there would be crossplay available between consoles and PCs, but it was not confirmed whether there would be console-to-console action coming.

There are two new 'boss' monsters introduced in the trailers, with a faceless, slithery creature that could wrap around objects, and a flying foe that can shoot lightning.

CAPCOM's Monster Hunter Franchise

CAPCOM's renowned Japanese action RPG franchise, Monster Hunter, has been around for a long time now, and the game is already celebrating its 20 years in the market this 2024 since its first game in 2004 for the PlayStation 2. Its most recent game in the mainline franchise was 2021's Monster Hunter Rise, a game that was released as a cross-platform title.

Various iterations of the game have also been seen by the public, and there is a lot more to expect from CAPCOM in the future releases of the title. 2018's Monster Hunter: World previously held the title as the fastest-selling game on CAPCOM's franchises, beating the likes of Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Ace Attorney, and more.

Since then, the game has been adapted into multiple gaming platforms from the PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo's different gaming consoles, and the mobile.

This latest take on the franchise offers a bigger world with a new humongous monster that users will take on, with CAPCOM offering crossplay and an immersive experience on Monster Hunter Wilds, coming this 2025.
