The next installment of the FIFA game franchise may be coming from 2K Games, with leaks now claiming that the renowned gaming development company is working on this project. This release will be called FIFA 2K25, similar to the other sports games that bear the same 2K branding, including the NBA 2K, WWE 2K, LEGO 2K Drive, and more.

It follows the controversial breakup of Electronic Arts and FIFA, which parted ways because they did not agree on the licensing fees and demands.

2K Games for FIFA 2K25? Leaks Reveal

2K Games is now rumored to be the next company to develop a new iteration of a FIFA game, with a leaker called Moh Play claiming that the company and the football organization have already secured the deal. Leaks are now spreading online behind the franchise's revival, but this time, with a different name, soon to be launched as FIFA 2K25.

The leaker further claimed that the partnership between 2K Games and FIFA had been confirmed, with this marking their first football game series.

It remains unknown how this game will turn out, especially as 2K has long focused on basketball and wrestling, centered on its partnerships with the NBA and WWE.

Is 2K Games Working on FIFA 2K25?

The leak also claimed that 2K Games is already working on FIFA 2K25's development. The game will launch later this year, similar to its timeline and naming of new games for the other franchises.

It would be the first for both companies to enter this new partnership. For 2K Games, it would be its first for soccer, and for FIFA, it would be their first time working with another company after splitting with EA.

The FIFA Franchise and EA

Since the beginning of FIFA's entry into the gaming industry to bring football to gaming consoles and PCs, Electronic Arts Sports has developed and published the game  FIFA International Soccer. However, everything changed when talks behind massive FIFA demands went EA's way, with speculations of no more future games after FIFA 22.

That became a reality, as FIFA demanded $1 billion from EA every four years as part of their licensing agreement, centering on the game's entirety, based on the organization's governed leagues.

Electronic Arts did not jump the gun with FIFA and decided to create their self-titled game, EA Sports FC, whose name was trademarked before the two companies parted ways.

There were talks behind FIFA not letting go of its gaming presence despite ending it with EA Sports, but it was not until earlier this year that talks behind it creating deals with developers appeared.

The most prominent and ideal company here is 2K Games, best known for their massive work in sporting games, with leaks suggesting that FIFA 2K25 is now under development between the two.
