Google Phone introduces a new feature for Pixel smartphones called 'Audio Emoji,' which will provide additional reactions for users to use whenever they are on a call. The feature is now available in the beta.
Since the inception of emojis, various instant messaging and social media platforms have widely used them alongside texts, but now, they are making them available for audio calls.
Apart from this, Google also unveiled its latest smartphone release, centering on the budget variant of its devices, the Pixel 8a.
Audio Emoji is Here for Pixel, Available on Beta
The latest from Google's blog, The Keyword, brings news about two releases from the company, but first off, it announced the arrival of Audio Emoji, a new feature for the Phone app.
It will first arrive on the Pixel 8a said Google, and this feature centers on offering users to be more expressive during calls, and to share their reactions to the other party with a click.
Tapping on the Audio Emoji found on Google Phone's interface would trigger a fitting sound that best describes what a person wants to convey.
Apart from this, Google said that a visual effect would also play on the screen if the call was on the speaker and not in contact with the skin.
How to Use the Audio Emoji Feature?
The internet company said that Audio Emoji is available for Google Phone, and this means, users need to be on a call to launch these reactions.
It is as simple as tapping an emoji on the keyboard like with the traditional text, but doing so would play an audio reaction, with an example by Google centering on the hand-clap emoji sharing applause sounds.
Google's Pixel and its Apps
Thanks to Google's massive focus on apps and features for its devices, Pixel smartphones offer many features. This focus on development provides a significant experience for Pixel, the first to get Google's updates and new features.
The recent one centers on the Circle to Search function, which helps bring translations immediately.
Alongside this, there have been massive leaks and speculations about the Pixel 8a smartphone coming this year, best known for its release during the first half of the year.
A Google engineer reportedly confirmed that the said budget smartphone is still coming this year, similar to previous releases of the company, now confirmed that it will arrive before I/O 2024.
Google is gearing up for the release of Pixel 8a this May, and alongside this, a new Pixel feature is taking shape for users to enjoy on the Phone app.
The Audio Emojis would be available for callers to use, offering sounds that replicate the emoji to share their reaction to the other end of the call. They are now in beta and will soon be available widely, like Pixel 8a.
