Google will officially offer many of its AI editing tools to Google Photos users for free starting on May 15, with a gradual release. The AI editing tools will reportedly include Google's Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Portrait Light.
Google says these AI editing tools can improve users' photos without needing expert editing abilities. Examples of what they can do are remove background distractions and unblur hazy photos. The tech giant also said that Pixel Tablets will have access to the AI tools.

The AI tools will come with the Magic Editor, which was released a year ago on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. This editor uses generative AI to simplify and make difficult photo modifications easy to execute with simple, intuitive actions, such as moving a subject or changing the gray sky to blue. All Pixel smartphones will now have enhanced access to Magic Editor.
Furthermore, 10 Magic Editor saves will be sent to all Google Photos users on iOS and Android each month. To exceed this limit, users will require a Pixel device or a Premium Google One plan.

Google Premium
Google's announcement comes after reports surfaced that the tech giant is looking to charge for its AI-powered search features. The internet giant may start charging its clients for their services with such premium subscriptions for the first time.
Google is considering integrating certain AI-powered search features into its premium membership offerings. With these, customers may now access Google's version of the well-known chatbot ChatGPT, Gemini.
Despite the report's assertion that engineers were developing the expertise needed to introduce the service, management is still unsure whether to proceed with the subscription model.
Members could still access Google's basic search engine for free, but they would also still see ads next to the content they were looking for.
Google Extends Gemini in Coding
Additionally, Google has recently extended the integration of Gemini into several products; most notably, the coding environment of Android Studio now includes Gemini Pro.
With a focus on the Jellyfish version of Android Studio, Google is expanding the distribution of Gemini to more than 180 countries. Like Studio Bot, the recently added Gemini bot can be accessed from within the IDE, enabling developers to ask for help with coding.
According to Google, developers should anticipate improvements in response quality in many coding areas, such as code completion, debugging, resource finding, and documentation creation.
Google emphasized its continuous work to improve AI capabilities, particularly efficiency and safety. Gemini 1.5 is a major upgrade that uses engineering and research advances in foundation model development and infrastructure aspects.
Interestingly, this involves increased efficiency in serving and training thanks to implementing a new Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture.
