Blizzard is not a stranger to its games and franchises getting adaptations, with a recent revelation pointing to its renowned Diablo franchise teasing that this series development "could work."
Microsoft is already booming with its gaming franchise's adaptations, with 343 Industries and Xbox's Halo seeing a Paramount+ take on the series and Fallout under Bethesda Game Studios.
Additionally, this would not be the first adaptation Blizzard Entertainment allowed before, as its famed MMO, World of Warcraft, previously saw a movie from Universal Pictures.
Diablo TV Series Coming? Blizzard Boss Teases
Blizzard GM Rod Fergusson recently revealed via an interview with Windows Central that there are many themes within the Diablo franchise that have the potential to be used for a TV series.
Fergusson is known for overseeing everything about Diablo within Blizzard Entertainment, with the video game stories, elements, and more "easily translated" to other forms of storytelling.
However, Fergusson also confirmed that there are no current developments towards a Diablo series adaptation, meaning that it would not arrive any time soon.
That being said, Fergusson is open to helping and working on a Diablo adaptation in the future, should it be picked up.

Diablo Series Adaptation 'Could Work'
Diablo is known for bringing an action, dungeon crawler role-playing game (RPG) to the world, with its latest game, Diablo 4, only released last year. Fergusson also regarded that "Yeah I definitely think it could work," pertaining to the game's series adaptation in the future.
"That's one of the things I really liked about Diablo as an IP, is that it's got very relatable themes because it's The High Heavens versus The Burning Hells and that idea of Good versus Evil," the Blizzard boss added.
Blizzard and Microsoft Adaptations
Activision Blizzard and Microsoft's recent merger paved the way for a massive surge in Q2 2024, reporting as much as a 49 percent rise thanks to the acquisition.
It also means that the games under ABK are now owned by Microsoft, with the company teeming with plans for its future, coinciding with the gaming companies owned by the software company that are now under or working alongside Xbox.
The multimedia approach of Microsoft for its famed franchises like Halo and Fallout is already working wonders for the company, seeing immense success for these series adaptations.
On Fallout alone, it helped boost the popularity of its previous games, with the franchise bringing back past titles and offering new upgrades to enjoy.
In 2016, Blizzard saw a successful theatrical release of its video game's movie adaptation, Warcraft, which focused on one story from the many available on the MMORPG.
Now, another possible adaptation is coming, and this time, it is for its action RPG, Diablo, but it is meant to be a series, with Blizzard's boss believing in its potential.
