Electronic Arts EA Play service is experiencing a price hike, which the company confirmed earlier today. However, the increase affects current and new subscription members differently.

EA Play Subscription Price Hike is Now Here
EA Play's subscription is now seeing a price hike, and the company confirmed that this is a global increase for all users under the service.
Electronic Arts is already starting to send emails to notify users. This will take effect in all territories where EA Play is available, with Gamesindustry.biz citing that this new costing structure was made to "bring fees in line with market value."
The standard EA Play tier is now at $6 per month, up by $1 from its previous $5 pricing.
On the other hand, the premium tier, EA Play Pro, is now available for $17 per month, $2 more expensive than the previous $15.
It also affects the annual pricing for the EA Play Pro, which is more expensive by as much as $20 from $100, now at $120 per year.

What can you expect from the increased EA play pricing?
Gamers who are new to the service and are only starting their subscriptions now will face the price increase from the company. However, for existing members or long-time subscribers, the price hike will take effect next month, May 10.
Reports claim that this follows Microsoft and Sony's series of price increases from last year and is now in line with Ubisoft+ Premium's current monthly offer of $18.

From the Standard tiers down to the EA Play Pro subscriptions, users worldwide will see as much as $1 to the highest increase of $20 for their monthly or annual payments, effective today.
