Minecraft x Dune Crossover? New Teaser Hints at Possible Collab Coming Soon

Dune: Part Two would not only make waves in theaters, but also in Minecraft?

A possible Minecraft x Dune crossover may be coming soon, and that much was revealed by Mojang Studios and Microsoft in their latest teaser and congratulatory post to the movie franchise available in theaters now. It remains unknown what this crossover means for Minecraft, but it only shows that there are plans to incorporate the massive world of Dune into the game.

The recent arrival of Dune: Part Two in theaters is shaking up the world, and as early as now, it is already considered a massive success at the box office.

Minecraft x Dune Crossover Coming? Mojang Teases

An unexpected revelation came from Minecraft today, with its recent post congratulating Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. on the massive success of Dune: Part Two in cinemas. The team went on to say "Wonder what could be in the works" alongside a side-eye emoji which hints at a possible Minecraft x Dune crossover to take place in the sandbox game.

There were no further revelations from Mojang's team behind this possible collaboration, but the image the team provided showed Steve and Alex, both holding their swords behind a massive sunset.

It is known that Dune takes place on an alien planet, best characterized by its overwhelming sand, replicating the desert where the Sun is the main cosmic body seen.

What to Expect from Minecraft x Dune Collaboration?

There may be limited information behind the possible Minecraft x Dune collaboration, but it is expected that the game will bring a special DLC that would feature or replicate Arrakis, the renowned fictional desert coveted by the prominent families, Atreides and Harkonnen.

Moreover, there are possibilities that Paul Atreides, the prophesized hero of the Dune stories, will get his special, pixelized skin for gamers to use in exploring the sandy dunes of the title.

Mojang Studios and Microsoft's Minecraft

While Minecraft holds its place as the top-selling game of all time and is best known for being an iconic title in its base version alone, the game is known for its many collaborations and new releases in the past. At one point, it was able to collaborate with the exclusive Nintendo company to bring Amiibos to the game, offering these special characters through NFC tags on the Switch.

There was also one DLC on Minecraft which replicated the world of SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog, the renowned arcade and RPG franchise set on the unique adventures of its titular hero.

This exclusive texture pack was a result of Mojang and SEGA's collaboration to feature the Green Hill Zone, accessible via the Survival or Creative mode of the sandbox title.

In this teaser, Mojang, Microsoft, Legendary, and Warner Bros. seem to have massive plans for a crossover that would bring over the world of Dune to the game. It is yet unknown if this collaboration would come as a DLC, especially as previous experiences came this way, only that teams may already be working on a Minecraft x Dune experience, to enjoy in the game.
