The latest device to be getting an M3 chip upgrade is the Apple MacBook Air, and reports are now claiming that it will be seeing a drop this March alongside the other speculated releases of the company. This follows last year's announcement of the new M3 chips coming to two designated devices the MacBook Pro and the iMac, but that is not all from the company.
Apart from the MacBook Air's update this 2024, there are also speculations for the upcoming M3 upgrade for the various iPad models, speculated for this March as well.
Apple's 2024 MacBook Air Update is Coming this March
A new report from 9to5Mac details the upcoming 2024 MacBook Air getting an upgraded chip, the M3, to bring new features and capabilities to the device. However, the report claimed that apart from the M3, there is not much excitement from this release as there would be no other major changes for the lightweight laptop.
Unlike the earlier releases of the MacBook Air, this year's update would feature the same body and look, with its processor getting the only upgrade from the company.
In 2022, Apple brought the updated design to the MacBook Air with the notch for the camera, sleeker body, MagSafe charger's return, and other changes. Fast forward to 2023, Apple delivered the 15-inch MacBook Air, one of the biggest updates the lightweight computer had for years.
Also, the report claimed that the MacBook Air M3 is already in production now, soon joining the March launch.

Apple's 2024 March Releases with the M3
Joining the MacBook Air for its 2024 unveiling are the new iPad devices, particularly with the awaited iPad Pro with the M3 chip. On the other hand, there are also speculations for the MacBook Pro debuting new releases this March, equipping the 13-inch and 15-inch versions of the high-performance laptop with the M3, following last year's 14-inch and 16-inch variant updates.
Apple's M3 Processor
After the surprise Halloween 2023 event from Apple, a.k.a. the Scary Fast event, the M3 was introduced to the world, and the rest was history for the company. This first-ever 3nm chip from TSMC for Apple is the fastest on the M-series, featuring three versions of it including the base, the M3 Pro, and the M3 Max, promising a faster and more efficient CPU for the computer.
Two were released by Apple with the M3, but speculations were fast in presenting reports, insider information, and speculations behind the other devices receiving the new 3nm SoC of the company. This includes the iPad Pro and the MacBook Air, joined by the iPad Air without the M3, to arrive this March, one of Apple's known annual events early in the year.
The last chip for the MacBook Air was the M2, also seeing the introduction of the 15-inch variant for the first time in 2023 which ushered in a new era for the lightweight laptop computer. This year, massive changes are coming for the MacBook Air, getting a new supercharged chip with the M3, reportedly coming this March alongside the anticipated iPad updates from Cupertino.
