X, the popular social media platform formerly known as Twitter, is now releasing exciting new updates to improve user experience, with a focus on premium iOS users.
The latest feature introduced by X is the addition of premium search filters, which are intended to make searching through posts more convenient and efficient.
Search Filters for Premium X Users
With the latest update, first shared by X designer Andrea Conway, users will be able to sort through posts based on a variety of criteria, including date, language, location, and post activity. This means that users can now quickly find the content they are looking for with a few taps.
It is worth noting that while this feature is currently only available to premium users, X has a history of gradually making new features available to all users. For example, recent updates such as audio and video calls were initially rolled out to premium users before being made available to all platform users.
X already has an advanced search feature that allows users to tailor their search results based on keywords, people, locations, and dates. This existing feature includes powerful search functionality, which improves users' ability to find relevant content on the platform.
Elon Musk's 'Everything App'
Under the leadership of CEO Elon Musk, X is undergoing broader transformations aimed at positioning the platform as an "everything app" similar to WeChat. This strategic shift entails incorporating various features into the platform, including instant messaging, social media, mobile payment options, and even online dating and job search.
In line with this vision, X recently obtained its 15th money transmitter license, paving the way for future payment features. Furthermore, the platform is looking into ways to compete with video streaming services by introducing features that allow users to seamlessly resume where they left off in videos, similar to YouTube Premium.
MrBeast, a top YouTuber, recently began uploading his most recent videos on X, which have received millions of views in less than a day. The YouTuber revealed that his video on X generated more than $260,000 in revenue but described it as "a bit of a facade."
Lower Figures
Despite claims made by X's CEO about the platform's user base, third-party estimates indicate slightly lower figures, highlighting the difficulties in verifying user data since X went private following Elon Musk's acquisition. Nonetheless, with an estimated 500 million monthly active users, X remains a major player in the social media space.
The introduction of premium search filters for iOS users demonstrates X's commitment to improving user experience and providing value to its premium subscribers.
