One of the most famous and earliest electric sports cars in the world, the Porsche Taycan, now unveiled its new and improved version, the Taycan Turbo S, promising advanced performances for its drivers. This new Porsche Taycan Turbo S gets an update amidst the upcoming lineup from the German sports car company, including increased range and faster acceleration.
This improved Taycan offers a new contender for the world, alongside the new Macan EV that will also debut soon to bring the latest from Porsche.
New Porsche Taycan Turbo S: Improved EV Unveiled
According to a new press release from Porsche USA, its latest upgrades made for the first fully-electric vehicle of the company are now here, with the 2025 Taycan Turbo S and other models debuting. The main focus of the car brand is to bring enhancements to its already iconic Taycan, with the specific trim of the Turbo S model shaving off three fractions of a second to its acceleration.
Both the 2025 Taycan Turbo S and its hatchback called the Taycan Cross Turismo offer four powertrain options for the users, available in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.
More importantly, the Sports Chrono package of the EV offers an additional boost of up to 70kW and offers a feature to call upon the vehicle and have it autonomously come to its owner in ten seconds.
The company said that its new Taycan lineup is heading to US showrooms this Summer 2024.
Taycan EV: Increased Range, Faster Acceleration
One of the most important upgrades from Porsche is the Taycan Turbo S, centering on a quicker performance, with only 2.3 seconds to complete a zero to 60 mph acceleration, 0.3 seconds faster compared to before.
Moreover, it brings faster charging capabilities, made ideal for 800-volt charging stations, for up to 320kW.
Porsche also boasts of as much as 587 kilometers or 364 miles of estimated range for its upgraded power cells.
The Iconic EV from Porsche: Taycan
Initially released by Porsche in 2018, the Taycan Turbo S is one of the earliest sports electric vehicles made available to the public, best known for offering an all-wheel drive with dual-electric motor, 260 miles of range, with 0 to 60mph in only 2.6 seconds. Moreover, it gained massive dominance for besting the Tesla Model S in various drag races, including reviews from users.
There have been several updates from Porsche that brought improvements to the Taycan over the years, as the company did not bring major changes since its debut around six years ago. Last year, a combination of software and hardware upgrades were delivered by the company, with the 2023 version debuting the panoramic glass roof with Porsche's Roof Transport System.
While this was Porsche's first fully-electric vehicle released to the world, it has not yet been forgotten by the company, as this latest update offers essential improvements to its performance. The new body styles of the Taycan Turbo S accompany the wide range of features introduced in this 2025 version, with a faster acceleration and increased range, for all kinds of drive.
