After the milestone, YouTube wants AI for its future.

The next step for YouTube is to enforce and incorporate more artificial intelligence developments into its platform, centering on the improved experiences and features that its machine learning tech will deliver. This came after the company announced its recent milestone for YouTube TV, with the service already achieving a whopping 8 million subscriber count in total.

AI's massive dominance last year only highlights what is coming for 2024, with Google and YouTube looking to be the names associated with it.

YouTube to Focus on AI this 2024 for Streaming Dominance

In the latest blog post from YouTube's CEO Neal Mohan, the top goal and agenda for the platform's 2024 is to bring improvements to the streaming website using artificial intelligence. The CEO said that throughout the years, the company focused on challenges including monetization, rights management, and protecting its community, with some of its aspects best known to already see AI's works.

We're approaching advances in AI with the same mission that launched YouTube years ago. We want to help everyone create.

Neal Mohan

Mohan believes that AI will help empower human creativity and not replace what people have now. He also mentioned several tools available including the Dream Screen, Music AI Incubator, and last year's Dream Track to start.

More features and AI developments are to be expected this 2024 from YouTube.

YouTube TV Milestone: 8 Million Subscribers

Apart from this, Mohan also shares the recent milestone of the company, particularly with YouTube TV which now boasts of more than 8 million paying subscribers on the service. The next frontier for the platform, its content, and its creators is the living room with television streaming now dominating the industry, and YouTube finding massive success with it.

YouTube and Google's AI Developments

With Google's massive focus on AI developments, its subsidiary companies and brands are getting the boost to also get improvements through machine learning and its LLMs.

Google DeepMind's development of Dream Track and Lyria last year has a significant application for YouTube, centering on new AI tools that will help with music creation for the platform.

Moreover, YouTube embraced the massive AI-generated content flooding into its systems, particularly with its latest labels that will help the public identify which videos bring generative AI.

There is also YouTube's content moderation which is also powered by AI, but it previously made a mistake from a chess chat content that featured black and white pieces, flagging it as "racism."

This year, it is expected that the world will see more AI developments that will bring improvements and updates to the experiences, with YouTube leveraging its year to focus more on the technology. YouTube TV's growth is a milestone for the company with 8 million subscribers already, with its plans for 2024 centering on more AI development for streaming dominance.
