Oh yeah, we are loving this. Starting next week, instead of using cold-hard cash to pay for your meal, McDonald's will let customers pay for their food with love in forms that include selfies and hugs.
The fast food chain announced the new "lovin'" payment method in a new ad that will be aired in a $4.5 million spot during the Super Bowl.
"From selfies, hugs to high fives— we have a bunch of fun ways to express your Lovin'," says a McDonald's spokeswoman.
The promotion will begin on February 2nd and will end on Valentine's Day. However, fast food lovers can only pay for the famous fries and other foods during pre-selected times. And not all hugs are accepted. McDonald's employees will randomly select the customers who can pay with a little lovin'.
"We want to thank our customers for making our day and hopefully they will make someone else's as well— that's what Lovin' is all about," the spokeswoman says.
In the ad, a McDonald's employee tells customers to use their phone to call their mom and tell her they love her as a form of payment for breakfast.
While most customers accept the offer, one grumpy man says, "Why don't you just tell me how much it is."
"That is how much it is," the employee responds as the two fist bump.
