After a month since the talk about Apple Music's new offer for artists to generate more revenue from royalties, the company confirms now that it is giving a bonus for those bringing songs that are available in Spatial Audio. This new campaign by Apple centers on promoting the Apple Music platform to offer more Spatial Audio tracks to help listeners get more immersed in their experience.
For a long time now, Apple offered Spatial Audio to listeners and was one of the pioneers to offer this new experience from a streaming platform.
Apple Music Offers Higher Royalties for Artists Offering Spatial Audio
A report from 9to5 Mac confirms that Apple is now offering Apple Music artists higher royalties if they bring their songs or tracks to the platform with Spatial Audio availability. That specific artist may earn as much as 10 percent higher compared to their previous earnings in royalties from the platform if it is compatible or offered with Spatial Audio moving forward.
This new financial incentive is looking to boost more of Spatial Audio music's availability on the platform, offering listeners more tracks that will immerse them in this unique experience.
Moreover, the bonuses will start appearing on the January payouts made to the artists.

However, not all are eligible for the bonus of 10 percent higher royalties, as it will have a specific metric that would calculate the Spatial Audio to non-spatial Audio streams. As per the report, if an artist offers all of their uploads in Spatial Audio format or Dolby Atmos mastering, they are eligible to receive the full 10 percent bonus on their next paycheck from Apple.
Apple Music's Focus on Spatial Audio
The Cupertino giant claimed that it found immense success when it offered Spatial Audio to its users, saying that it helped boost its listener numbers on the renowned Apple Music platform. As per the company, it saw more than half use the said immersive audio experience, best paired with a suite of Apple devices including the AirPods lineup, HomePods, and more.
However, Apple did not stop there.
The company focused on integrating Spatial Audio into its many devices like the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and while its speakers cannot fully offer the said feature, using a compatible accessory would deliver this for a user. Additionally, the company expanded its Spatial Audio program to work for third-party devices that support the feature, including several Sonos speakers and others.
A new Spatial Audio device is coming and it is with the premium mixed-reality headset of the company, the Apple Vision Pro, set to release this February to bring a truly immersive experience in video and audio. In a recent discovery via reports, Apple is boosting the revenue that artists may earn from Apple Music, getting 10 percent higher payouts if they bring Spatial Audio songs to the platform.
