Strategic Launch and Stellantis' Vision

The launch of the RAM ProMaster EV aligns seamlessly with the Dare Forward 2030 strategy of Stellantis, RAM's parent company.

Stellantis envisions achieving 100% EV sales in the EU and 50% in the US by the end of the decade, reflecting a broader industry shift towards sustainable practices.

Moreover, Stellantis boasts an impressive portfolio of brands in the US, including Jeep, RAM, Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Dodge, and Maserati.

RAM ProMaster EV: A Closer Look

According to Electrek, RAM ProMaster EV is available in both delivery and cargo models, with the delivery version already accessible and the cargo variant set to launch later. The cargo version offers flexibility with two lengths, a standard 12' and an extended 13' variant.

Powered by a 200 kW EDM, the RAM ProMaster EV delivers 268 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with a 110 kWh battery pack, it targets a range of up to 162 miles in city conditions, marking it as a reliable choice for urban deliveries.

Built on RAM's ProMaster platform, the electric van features a purpose-built unibody design optimized for electrification. The battery pack resides beneath the floor, ensuring a flat cargo-loading surface.

Charging options include 50 kW, 85 kW, 125 kW, and 150 kW DC fast charging, along with a level 2 (11kW) wall box charger.

The RAM ProMaster EV incorporates a suite of features tailored for efficient fleet management. These include a rear roll-up door for seamless loading, a standard pocket door for convenient delivery access, and advanced tools like Ram Telematics.

Customizable Configurations and Advanced Interior

RAM emphasizes the ProMaster EV's high level of customization to meet diverse customer demands. The vehicle, available in five configurations, offers two roof heights, two cargo lengths, and two body styles, accommodating cargo lengths of up to 13'.

Inside, the RAM ProMaster EV boasts 524 cubic feet of cargo space, an 86" height, a low floor for effortless loading, and a maximum cargo width between wheel wells. Technological features include a 10.1" touchscreen, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alexa In-Vehicle Assistant, and support for up to five user profiles.

Safety, Visibility, and Advanced Features

RAM prioritizes safety with features like front and rear Park Sense with a full stop, various backup alarms, and the inclusion of safety features from the brand's full-size commercial van.

The front-end design showcases standard LED headlights and fog lights, providing 70% more Lumens than the gas-powered model for enhanced visibility. A high-res backup camera and an optional 360-degree camera further enhance safety and maneuverability.

The RAM ProMaster EV also introduces a Charging Station Locator and EV Dynamic Trip Prediction to facilitate seamless route planning.

RAM's entry into the electric van segment positions it to compete with rivals like Rivian's electric delivery van (EDV) and Ford's E-Transit, as the US witnesses a growing market share for electric vans.
