Ming-Chi Kuo has a holiday treat for all, and here, he talked about the arrival of Apple's renowned wearable headset and the timeline to expect the Vision Pro to hit the shelves of Cupertino's retail stores. This also includes the device's availability on the online Apple Stores, as these dates center on its drop, with the company only claiming to release it by early 2024.

In the latest post by Kuo on Medium, shipments will arrive in the first week of January 2024 to Apple, with as many as 500,000 units set to arrive.

Kuo expects that it will arrive in the storefronts around late January or early February for its availability, based on the "current mass shipping schedule."

This initial drop would also signal stock availability, as depending on how it performed on the market, Apple will replenish the units to release.

What to Expect from the Apple Vision Pro?

The spatial computer known as Apple's Vision Pro is a mix of both VR and AR, offering it via a three-dimensional (3D) user interface that is previewed through its pair of displays that boasts 23 million pixels. Moreover, it is powered by a custom Apple-designed Silicon chip alongside its proprietary visionOS.

Apple also offers cameras to capture the outside world, and it will be a US-only launch, with a global availability coming later. Its selling price is a whopping $3,499.99 when it drops.

The Apple Vision Pro's Timeline

WWDC 2023 is massive for Cupertino as it held one of its biggest developer's conferences yet, centering on a big drop regarding its anticipated hardware, with the Vision Pro finally unveiled to the world.

The new XR headset is a fairly new device for Apple, but do not get mistaken as the company has worked on this wearable since 2018, and this was revealed by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman via the Power On Newsletter in March. It was said that the company has worked on it for five years, previewing the prototype and its developments to executives, including its CEO.

The Vision Pro was only named in 2023, and it saw variations of speculated names including the Reality Pro or the xrOS for its operating system, but it was not until WWDC when the company unveiled it as what it is called now.

It is set to bring the top specs of XR wearables to the world by 2024, and the company promised its arrival this early 2024, with Kuo claiming to expect it around late January to early February.
