The latest announcement from Meta ushers in a new era for Quest users, and this is because Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available to access via the wearable headsets of the company. For many years now, Meta claimed that it will bring cloud gaming experiences to the platform, centering on streaming hundreds of games available in different libraries, particularly from Xbox.
Meta Quest Brings Xbox Cloud Gaming to Wearables
The latest announcement from Meta confirms the arrival of the Xbox Cloud Gaming platform that is now accessible via the Quest headsets, available to download via the Quest Store.
Meta claimed that this is available to access for the Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest Pro wearables only, and also required to get the latest software update for the wearables.
Xbox Cloud Gaming's massive library offers renowned titles in the platform, including Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and more via the dedicated app.
It also comes with one supported controller for in-VR gaming, where the virtual space will feature a screen where gamers may play Xbox Cloud Gaming titles on.
Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta on Quest
First off, the Xbox Cloud Gaming app is under beta testing mode, but it is in a public beta for users to access.
Next, it requires that a user has an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership to access the platform in the virtual space of the Quest headsets. Not only that, Meta also requires the user to have a high-speed internet connection to unlock the experience on their wearable.
The good thing is that Xbox Cloud Gaming on Quest no longer requires a console or a TV, as it is a direct cloud streaming experience.
Meta Quest and its Experiences
Last June 1, Meta centered on a specific event called the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase which only shows their commitment to growing more of the experiences that it would make available for the platform. It saw different titles and developers debuting in the VR space, with Meta's wearable platform seeing significant developments coming soon for all.
Initially, it was thought that the VR space was for games only, but Meta is among the pioneers in turning it into a lifestyle experience for all, offering different features that center on social technology. Recently, the company offered avatar customization features for one's presence in the virtual space, alongside unsend messages for communications, and more.
With the latest drop from Meta centering on the Quest 3, the company expanded more of its VR offers with AR, ushering in a new era of mixed-reality experiences. However, it did not stop there, as Meta is now tapping into partners from third-party platforms, and its latest offer of Xbox Cloud Gaming looking to expand more of the library to access more games via subscription.
