The latest Meta Quest 3 has seen rising popularity since it was released, but that gets more affirmation thanks to Steam's latest Hardware and Software Survey which shows exactly how much it grew. On the platform alone, it saw a spike in usage last November 2023, with its adoption rate growing last month, and more in store for what the future holds for XR.
While mixed-reality headsets have seen a surge before, the latest releases saw only a few devices, with Meta's latest drop being one, and 2024 awaiting its high-end contender.
Meta Quest 3 Grows in Popularity Over at Steam
The latest Steam Hardware and Software Survey November 2023 shows the spike in growth of the Meta Quest 3, and in this month alone, the device saw a 5.05 percent improvement. In total, the latest Meta Quest 3 is now used by as much as 5.20 percent of SteamVR users, securing one spot from the top 5 VR headsets in the platform.
However, according to Android Central, these numbers do not represent all of SteamVR users, but only a handful of folks who were part of the survey.
Still, it is crunching in good numbers for itself via the Steam platform, showing the growth of the mixed-reality headset in today's age.

Is the Meta Quest 3 a Successful Release?
Meta's Quest 3 filled in the massive demand for a mixed-reality experience in today's age, especially as throughout late 2022 and early 2023, Apple's Vision Pro saw significant hype in the market.
While Apple was the one with the biggest buzz, Meta was the first to reveal their wearable and release it on the market, being one of the mid-premium XR headsets available. It is still early for Meta to call this a successful release, but its growth makes it noteworthy in the industry for now.
The Meta Quest 3 XR Headset
Back in September, Meta went on to offer a different kind of reality experience for its renowned wearable lineup, with the Quest 3 now offering mixed reality that leverages augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). However, it is not like what Apple popularized and what the public expected, as it does not have a see-through lens, but rather, features cameras on the outside to allow external elements to be perceived.
With this, it has a feature called the "Passthrough," which allows the user to see outside of the confines of the wearable and shows a real-time feed of the world beyond the wearable. Many users have been seen wearing the Quest 3 in public places, and it only shows how mixed reality or AR is set to change the world in the future because of the technology it features.
Quest 3 is available for $499.99 SRP, and it is a more expensive device compared to the regular VR series, but half the price of the Quest Pro which was once $1,499.99, now only $999.99. The Apple Vision Pro is yet to come and the world is yet to know what are its actual experiences, with Quest 3 going ahead and seeing significant growth now, rising in SteamVR usage.
