The latest development by Google is here, with the Gemini AI already available to experience via Bard, and it went ahead of the expected release date which was speculated for 2024. Its latest take on an AI model will follow its previous LLM, the PaLM 2, previously known to power Bard, but with the Gemini, Google is looking to take on OpenAI's GPT-4, one of the most advanced in the world.
Google Gemini AI Gets an Early Release, Now Available
Google announced the debut of its "largest and most capable AI model," the Gemini AI, with the company revealing Gemini 1.0 with three different sizes available.
This centers on the Gemini Ultra "for highly complex tasks," the Gemini Pro, "for scaling across a wide range of tasks," and the Gemini Nano "for on device tasks," referring to the AI as its most flexible model available.
Gemini is the result of large-scale collaborative efforts by teams across Google, including our colleagues at Google Research. It was built from the ground up to be multimodal, which means it can generalize and seamlessly understand, operate across, and combine different types of information including text, code, audio, image, and video.

Gemini AI Powers Bard Now with Multimodal Feats
The company highlighted a multimodal model with Gemini AI, and it centers on the capabilities to handle different types of input including text, code, audio, image, and video, now accessible via Bard.
Google's AI chatbot is getting multimodal capabilities, available in over 170 countries, but not in the EU and UK regions because of potential regulatory problems.
Google's AI Developments this 2023
One of the biggest releases of 2023 is artificial intelligence, and this year, many companies have taken on the challenge of delivering significant capabilities and features to bring impressive AI tools and experiences to the world.
Google is one of those companies, and it has improved its releases over and over again, with among its notable products centering on the AI chatbot, Bard.
Moreover, Google also updated its top product to get a suite of AI features, with Search getting an upgrade with the power of machine learning, available in over 120 countries. AI-powered Search is now widely available to experience, and like the regular way of looking for something on the web, users only need to type in what they are looking for, with AI providing helpful results, insights, context, and more.
Despite the top features of Google's AI in the present, it faces significant competition in the industry, and this is because of companies like OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, X, and more.
However, its latest contender entered the market earlier today, with the Gemini AI offering a more powerful approach to helping the world get the information it needs, readily available via Bard.
