BlizzCon 2023 has recently concluded its 2-day run with various announcements for many fans, including updates and expansions for its famous franchises, Diablo, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch. Still, the event has reportedly left a lot to be desired for StarCraft fans.
BlizzCon showcased a lot from its opening to the closing ceremony, but StarCraft fans waited for any update regarding StarCraft 3 but the franchise. Still, the event barely mentioned StarCraft at all.
Comicbook Gaming reports that "following the opening ceremony of BlizzCon, social media began to fill up with inquiries from fans wondering about what Blizzard is doing with the StarCraft series."
During the event itself, a fan reportedly shouted the phrase "What about StarCraft?" when the President of Blizzard Entertainment, Mike Ybarra, came to the stage and called on fans of its biggest franchises "to make their voices heard."
Multiple social media posts, on the other hand, mentioned how the event seemingly pretended StarCraft did not exist with a post saying, "the guy mentions 3 out of the 4 big Blizzard franchises and pretends the last one doesn't even exist," another user added "Sad times."
Fan speculation, as per the report, thought that with Microsoft being the new owner of Blizzard, perhaps the change in leadership will look to greenlight 'StarCraft 3.' Fans of Starcraft may still have hope, though, since Microsoft CEO Phil Spencer reportedly brought up the game in passing immediately after taking the stage.
StarCraft is a real-time strategy sci-fi for both the PC and Mac; it showcases single-player missions and campaigns, exciting multiplayer matches and collaborative missions.

BlizzCon 2023's Biggest Announcements
Despite the absence and complaints about StarCraft, Blizzcon 2023 reportedly introduced Diablo IV's very first expansion, called 'Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred', with a brand-new, never-before-seen character class. The expansion will reportedly arrive in late 2024.
Blizzard has also satisfied Overwatch fans by unveiling Mauga, the game's first Samoan hero and a powerful attack character. Mauga is proficient with several heavy artillery weapons, wielding "Gunny," the incendiary chaingun, and "Cha Cha," the volatile chaingun.
BlizzCon also announced, as per IGN, the next expansion for the card game Hearthstone, called Showdown in the Badlands, set in the wild west of Azeroth.
This new expansion has a Western twist and will tell the narrative of Reno Jackson and Elise Starseeker, two characters from Hearthstone. The two will reportedly work together to stop a sinister mining business from taking over the Badlands, coming this November 14.
World of Warcraft Within 'The Wordsoul Saga'
BlizzCon 2023 also announced 'The Wordsoul Saga', which will see the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth expansions to its ongoing popular MMORPG World of Warcraft.
The announcement was brought by World of Warcraft Legend Chris Metzen, who described the expansion as "the culmination of the first 20 years of [their] storytelling" that will "vector [the players and developers] into the next 20 years of adventure."
IGN reports that the expansions are "massive, with Metzen unveiling an almost MCU-like setup for the coming years of World of Warcraft."The War Within, the eleventh expansion and the first in the Worldsoul Saga, will take players inside Azeroth to underground realms where they will encounter Nerubians and an Allied species known as the Earthen Dwarves.
The War Within revealed the most information, including the much-anticipated return of the former talking knife Xal'atath, the addition of new zones like Azj-kahet, Isle of Dorn, The Ringing Deeps, and Hallowfall, the introduction of a new treasure hunter adventure activity called Delves, the creation of an account-unifying feature called War Bands, and the addition of new dungeons and raids.
As the other two expansions are farther away, it reportedly had fewer details. Expansion 11, simply dubbed World of Warcraft: Midnight, is set in Quel'thalas, the "Old World" of Azeroth, where Void forces have overrun the region and are attempting to destroy the Sunwell and engulf the whole planet in darkness.
World of Warcraft: The Last Titan will be the name of the 12th expansion for World of Warcraft and the third installment of the Worldsoul Saga. It also happens in the Old World, but in Northrend, which served as theWrath of the Lich King's prior staging area. When the Titans return to Azeroth in this expansion, players "uncover a vast conspiracy" regarding the Titans and their goals.
