Nintendo continues to delight gamers with its ever-growing library of classics on the Nintendo Switch Online service.
This month, they have brought out some true gems for fans of both the Game Boy Color and the NES.
As Video Games Chronicle reports, Castlevania Legends, Devil World, and The Mysterious Murasame Castle are the latest additions to the roster, promising countless hours of nostalgia and fun.
Castlevania Legends
Castlevania Legends, a Game Boy Color title originally released in 1998, takes players on a vampiric journey. In this classic adventure, you assume the role of Sonia Belmont, a young Vampire Hunter.
Armed with her trusty whip, passed down by her grandfather, Sonia embarks on a mission to confront the nefarious Dracula in his castle.
What sets this installment apart is the introduction of Soul Weapons earned by defeating formidable bosses. These weapons prove essential for progressing through the eerie castle.
Players can also trigger "Burning Mode," which grants temporary invincibility once per stage, offering a lifeline in dire circumstances.
The Mysterious Murasame Castle
The NES library welcomes two new titles, with The Mysterious Murasame Castle being the first. In this game, a dark force seizes control of Murasame Castle and its surrounding territories.
Four lords in nearby castles have harnessed dark spheres of power, enabling them to summon ninja armies and monstrous creatures that terrorize the villages.
Enter Takamaru, a fearless samurai swordsman sent to investigate and combat the lords. Armed with his sword and shurikens, players must infiltrate the four castles, defeat the evil lords, and finally reach the ominous Murasame Castle.
Devil World
The NES library's second addition is Devil World, where players control the heroic dragon Tamagon in a quest to defeat evil. Navigating a challenging maze filled with difficult obstacles, players must collect boa-boa dots and unleash fiery breath to eliminate enemies.
However, the devil looms overhead, directing his minions to shift the maze's direction unpredictably, posing a constant threat to Tamagon. Quick thinking and sharp reflexes are key to survival in this classic.
For those interested in gaining access to these titles and the broader library, Nintendo offers its Nintendo Switch Online service in different subscription tiers.
The standard subscription, which includes NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games, is available at £3.49/€3.99/$3.99 for one month, £6.99/€7.99/$7.99 for three months, and £17.99/€19.99/$19.99 for a 12-month membership. Gamers can also subscribe to the Expansion Pack tier to access Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, N64, and Game Boy Advance titles.
F-ZERO 99 Adds More Thrills
In addition to the classic game library expansion, a recent free update for F-ZERO 99 introduced five new tracks as part of the King League.
These high-octane courses include Mute City III, Fire Field (Grand Prix only), and Red Canyon II (Pro Tracks and Mini Prix only).
