Apple is no stranger to surprises, delivering an awe-inspiring new AR platform in the form of the Vision Pro in tandem with extensive upgrades to its in-house chips, the M1 and M2. Setting the stage for the spooky season, Apple is going "scary fast" with yet another Fall event on the heels of its iPhone 15 launch stream this past September. Apple's next event, which will comprise primarily of Mac product announcements, is scheduled for October 30th at 5 PM PT.
The event, as mentioned already, will cover new enhancements to Apple's Mac lineup. This could entail the introduction of the exciting M3 chip platform, which could well boast TSMC's 3-nanometer technology. On the table for most enthusiasts is the newly refreshed iMac featuring a 24-inch screen, which industry insider Mark Gruman claims will not be utilizing the M3 chip.
Other potential inclusions among Apple's "Scary Fast" event could be setting the stage for its enhanced MacBook Pro lineup, including the 13-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch upgraded options all leveraging the aforementioned M3 chipset. It's also possible, but relatively unlikely that entrants will be welcomed with the new MacBook Air.

According to Gruman, the lighter MacBook featuring the M3 chip is bound for a 2024 launch at the earliest. The insider also related in a Bloomberg "Power On" newsletter, that a 32-inch iMac Pro with the M3 chip will be unveiled in late 2024 or 2025. Gruman claimed in his report that inventory of the iMac and 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros have dwindled, pointing to an upcoming refresh with upgraded models.
It's important to note the tagline of the show "Scary fast" could be a hint at the M3 chips, pointing to exceptionally swift speeds on these newer devices. Given that the company already debuted newer M2 Mac Pro and Mac Studio desktop builds earlier this year in June, it's safe to say that M3 tower upgrades won't be on the docket for Monday's event, sadly.
October is typically host to newer iPad upgrades out of Apple, as well, though the firm might be holding back on such announcements. The debut of an OLED iPad has long been on the docket for some time, with rumors percolating even now on the cusp of the major event next week. It's unclear if any iPad updates are slated for Monday, but it seems the focus is primarily situated on all things Mac.
Apple's "Scary Fast" event is scheduled for the eve of Halloween, Monday, October 30th, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. The live stream can be viewed either on the company's main events page or on its official YouTube channel.
