Xbox Game Pass Titles That Will Leave Soon
If there are games that will arrive on Game Pass, there are also titles that will apparently leave the platform later.
It's indicated in the same report that Gunfire Reborn, Kill It With Fire, Persona 5 Royal, Signalis, and Solasta Crown of the Magister will not be available on Game Pass anymore on Oct. 31.
Microsoft, the company behind the Xbox Game Pass, is set to increase the current price of the Xbox Game subscription, not to mention the price of the Xbox Series X, as well.
Increased Pricing for Xbox Console and Subscription
According to GameisHard, this has already taken effect since Aug. 1 in most countries, but there are a handful of exceptions.
Xbox Series X Price Increases
- United Kingdom: The price of the Xbox Series X console will rise to £479.99.
- Most European Markets: Gamers in Europe can expect to pay €549.99 for the Xbox Series X.
- Canada: In Canada, the new price for the console will be CAD $649.99.
- Australia: Australian gamers will see a price increase to AUD $799.99.
- Xbox Series S: The pricing for the Xbox Series S will remain unchanged at $299.99 across all markets.
- Xbox Game Pass Subscription Updates
- Base Game Pass Subscription: For console users, the monthly cost will increase to $10.99 from the previous $9.99.
- Game Pass Ultimate: Subscribers of the Ultimate version will now pay $16.99 per month, up from $14.99.
Xbox's head of communications Kari Perez said that these adjustments are a direct response to competitive conditions in their respective markets. Notably, Microsoft had maintained its console prices for an extended period. However, the price hike by Sony for the PS5 last year made these adjustments foreseeable.
Existing Game Pass monthly subscribers will continue with their current rates until August 13th, whereas new subscribers will experience the updated prices as of July 6th.
For Game Pass members who use yearly subscription codes, price changes will come into effect upon renewal.
It's essential to recognize that Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass pricing has remained constant since its launch in 2017. These alterations are unrelated to Microsoft's proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard and are aimed at harmonizing prices with local market conditions.
The trend of price increases in entertainment subscriptions isn't exclusive to Microsoft. Other platforms, such as Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu, Apple Music, and Spotify, have also implemented price adjustments in various regions. Nintendo has yet to modify its Switch Online subscription service, while Sony updated its PlayStation Plus subscriptions last year.
