Drastic changes have taken place in X, but the latest that the social media is revamping are the posted links on the platform, now no longer showcasing the headlines and preview text of the article or website. It would appear like an image upload, containing a small link indicator on the lower left, but clicking on the photo would direct users to the said website.
Of course, the one who presented this idea and had a final say was its owner, Elon Musk, who said that it would look better, and the directive came from him.
X is No Longer Showing Headlines When You Post Links
The recent reply by Elon Musk to circulating information regarding X changing the way shared news links on the platform appear recently confirmed how it will look like in the present. One of the biggest changes here is that it will no longer show the headlines and preview text that usually comes with it, only leaving the featured image on each X post.
This garnered significant reactions from users, particularly with some supporting the idea by Musk, affirming that "Aesthetics is definitely a factor."
Some users also included screenshots of how it would look like, and it would appear as if the poster only used images for their post instead of a link box which also contains the header and its meta description that joins it.
Elon Musk Wants to Improve Aesthetics
According to the X owner, this instruction and change came "directly" from him, with Musk ordering the team to make it appear like this online. In his words this new look would "greatly improve the aesthetics" of the platform, confirming that he is doing this for the looks and appearance on the feed.
No other information was given, particularly when this change would appear or how it would affect posts in the future, especially for those who want to see a link preview before opening it.
Not all links found on platforms are legitimate, and some may contain scams, and only leaving images may make click baits more rampant as they lack information.
X's Many Changes on the Platform
From Twitter to X, from Larry the Bird to the letter X, and from Blue to monochromatic colors, the renowned short-word social media platforms have already changed a lot since Elon Musk stepped in. Another massive change on the platform was the Circles, with its current team removing the close friends feature that offered a way to choose one's audience.
While many things were removed by the company, mostly the remnants of the old Twitter platform, now centering on its philosophy and missions meant for this new direction, there are still iconic additional features that arrived. Soon, the Premium users of the platform will get a chance to live stream games directly to the platform, as well as engage in live shopping experiences.
The current management of X may have removed a lot of what people were familiar with on Twitter, even the renowned verb "Tweet" now known as "Post," but the team still looking into adding more experiences here. The recent change from Elon Musk directly was the removal of headlines and other texts on a linked news source, all for the aesthetics of the platform.
