Mixed-Reality Headsets and Meta
Back in early June, Meta went ahead and revealed its latest plan to bring a mixed-reality headset to the market, with the company initially revealing the Quest 3. The social media company from Mark Zuckerberg went ahead of Apple with the then-unnamed AR/VR headset, as the June WWDC 2023 event was expected to reveal what the company made.
However, Apple did not back down with what it has to offer, as the company finally brought its mixed-reality headset take which has been under wraps for a long time. This is the Apple Vision Pro, and it is on the more premium side of things as it is meant for a specific niche, with Cupertino slapping a sky-high price to the wearable that will arrive by 2024.
With Apple planning an early next year release, Meta is set to deliver its take on mixed-reality headset this year, particularly on October 10 for its wide availability. The AR/VR headset is relatively affordable, and only comes at $499.99, and it is only one-third of the price of Meta's Quest Pro VR headset which it brought in 2022, with this version centering on massive capabilities and experiences to share.
