A new FCC filing appeared for Meta's unknown VR headset, and this was believed to be the Quest 3, which is right on time for its upcoming September official launch via the Meta Connect.
Here, the device was revealed to feature a handful of important connectivity features, WiFi 6 and 5G connections, for all its wireless needs. We all know that the upcoming Meta Quest 3 mixed-reality headset is coming soon, but the company revealed only a handful of information when it was first announced last June.
Meta Quest 3 Appears in the Filing and Reveals Connections
According to UploadVR's report, the Meta Quest 3 appeared in the company's FCC filing, which details the latest features of the device. However, the filing did not explicitly claim that it was Quest 3. But there are certain indications that it is indeed the latest mixed-reality headset from Meta, particularly the headset strap and curved speakers.
The filing reveals the connections by the Quest 3 device, centering on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands that come standard with it. It also brings the 6GHz band, introduced in WiFi 6E, regarded as the next-gen connection that improves the currently used band for internet connectivity.

WiFi 6E and 5G Are Coming for the Meta Quest 3
Apart from the WiFi 6E, it was also found that the Meta Quest 3 would feature 5G connections, with the device featuring the earliest adoption of the latest cellular data band to mixed-reality devices.
With the WiFi 6E and 5G, Meta Quest 3 will take gaming to a whole new level and fulfill the online gaming and social experience its users require.
Meta's Quest VR and Mixed-Reality
For a long time, Meta has focused its Quest subsidiary brand on featuring virtual reality devices, stemming from the Quest 1 and 2, down to the renowned Project Cambria, a.k.a. the Meta Quest Pro.
Since Facebook acquired Oculus in 2014, the company has focused on providing VR wearable tech. The massive focus of Meta on its Quest brand and Reality Labs are centering on Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's plans to build the world's first metaverse, with the multi-tech company at its helm.
Not long after the massive leaks regarding Apple's Vision Pro, Meta unveiled the Quest 3, a mixed-reality device that brings the best of AR and VR. While Meta already showed the world its latest mixed-reality device, there is still little information about it, especially on its specs and features.
This latest FCC filing by Meta gives the world an idea about the new Meta Quest 3, paired with the latest-gen connections of WiFi 6E and 5G for its future online experience and more.
