"Final Fantasy VII Rebirth" has been a blast for all fans and gamers, and amid the hype, Square Enix has revealed that it is not currently planning to bring a DLC for the game anytime soon.
The developer shuts down any hopes and ideas for possible downloadable content for the beloved 1999 release, a game that has seen various remakes from the company.
There have been massive releases from Square Enix this year, particularly with the mainline franchise's sequel, "Final Fantasy XVI" released earlier this year.
No 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth' DLC Coming
"Final Fantasy VII Rebirth" is the second part of the original "Final Fantasy VII" released in 1999. It was already a much-anticipated release from Square Enix.
In a recent interview with Vandal, FFVII Rebirth's creative director, Tetsuya Nomura, said the company was "not yet planning any DLCs for this installment."
Nomura and Square Enix did not reveal the reason behind the company's decision to stick to the base game and something unlike the Remake: Intergrade's Yuffie DLC that came alongside it.
However, this is not yet the end for a possible DLC coming to FFVII Rebirth in the future, and while chances are slim, the future holds a lot for gamers.
Square Enix Not Yet Planning DLC
According to ComicBook Gaming, Square Enix may not be creating an expansion to Rebirth because of its scale, already giving gamers as much as 100 hours of gameplay to enjoy and finish.
That alone could suggest that Square Enix's plans for Rebirth are mainly focused on the base game and not much else that would follow or add to it.
Final Fantasy Franchise
June saw a significant drop from Square Enix, which was made exclusive to the PlayStation 5, with Final Fantasy XVI bringing the much-awaited sequel to the renowned gaming franchise of 2023.
Square Enix has put massive efforts into the game, teasing two possible future releases, one being its planned DLC and the other being its PC version.
The earlier title and release, "Final Fantasy VII," has seen a remake in the past, particularly with the 2020 release of the game, which brought it back to the modern gaming experience.
However, while the new game would center on the second part, Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade brought the first part with a more expansive experience, also seeing the Yuffie DLC.
With the FF VII Rebirth coming next year, many people expect new things to experience and explore in the second part of the original game, but sadly, that is not yet in the books for Square Enix.
For now, gamers would have to stick to the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's base game and experience part two of the game without any additional content.
