According to Apple Insider, the company has quietly added a new feature that gives owners of the iPhone 15 better data of their batteries. It was reported that this feature gives users the ability to check out things like their current cycle count.
The new changes can be spotted under the iPhone 15 Settings. After quite a season of battery complaints regarding the iPhone 14, the company has included multiple additional data points that users of the iPhone 15 can toggle with.

There is also the addition of new controls that users can enjoy. With regards to the latest data metrics of the battery section, users will be able to spot it under the phone's Settings before they go to General and then check the About screen.

The Visible Data Includes Things Like Battery Manufacturing Date and Current Cycle Count
The visible details include the battery manufacturing date, the first time the device was turned on, and even its "current cycle count." The article also revealed that the information was previously sourced through third-party tools, which can be very tricky to use.
The changes present an easier way for individuals who are more concerned about their batteries to be able to view the data. When it comes to the parameters shown, it was reported that users will be able to better benefit from the current cycle count.

New Data Point Reveals Battery Health Percentage
The new data point and battery health percentage will show users the aging of their internal battery. Ideally, this can help make users more conscious and practice better battery-management skills to ensure the longevity of their devices.
The information is reportedly only available to the iPhone 15 models. So far, it remains unclear whether Apple will be adding the features to older iPhone models, including those running the iOS17.
Apple Insider also highlighted how the new battery information tab in the About screen won't just focus directly on battery-focused features that users can find in the iPhone 15 models. It was reported that users will be able to use the new toggle found in the battery health menu to limit recharging to 80%.
This feature is only limited to iPhone 15 models for unknown reasons. According to reports, recharging a lithium-ion battery to 100% makes it age faster.
