Tyrese Gibson Met With Warner Bros. In Regard To 2020 Green Lantern Role

Not too long ago Tyrese Gibson went on a rampage on Instagram where he campaigned hard in hopes of becoming Green Lantern. Well, it appears he might be on his way to become Green Lantern after all.

A new picture posted by Gibson on Instagram shows that the actor has met with folks from Warner Bros. about something. We can't say for what, but if we should go with what Gibson is saying, then his visit to the Warner Bros. playpen is all about the John Stewart role.

Since the man has met with Warner Bros. for the Green Lantern role, the big question right now is whether or not the studio is even considering him at this point. As we've stated in a previous article, we have seen nothing from Tyrese that proves he's an exceptional actor, but maybe he is and just requires the right film.

Then again, if DC and Warner Bros. should ever consider him, it might be for a role where his best traits might shine. Look at Vin Diesel, he may not be the best actor around, but Marvel made good use of him nonetheless. Case in point, Groot is one of the most popular characters from the recent Guardians of the Galaxy film adaptation.

We'd like to think that Tyrese has landed the role somehow, but we just can't get our fingers around it. The actor was practically begging on Instagram, and why wouldn't he? It's been a long time since he landed a leading role in a film.

He seems confident, though, because later he posted another image on Instagram that is of the Green Lantern ring.

One thing is for certain, it doesn't matter what many might believe, moviegoers would love to see Tyrese as John Stewart. An image of him as Green Lantern on his Facebook page garnered over 10 million views, 300,000 likes and more than 10,000 comments. It is clear from these numbers that Tyrese could have the pulling power to draw fans to the theater, but he should know that acting power is more important.
