If you have been eyeing the latest iPhone 15 models but are hesitant about the price tag that starts at $799, we have some exciting news for you.
The Wall Street Journal tells us that AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, the giants of the US carrier world, are rolling out trade-in deals that could shave a whopping $1,000 off the iPhone 15's price.
Now, let us break down the offers by carrier.
AT&T
AT&T is pulling out all the stops with its trade-in deal. If you have an eligible phone in good condition to trade in, you could enjoy up to $1,000 in credit towards any iPhone 15 model, provided you are on an eligible unlimited data plan.
WSJ tells us that the devices that can fetch you the maximum credit include the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the most recent models. Even if you have an iPhone 13 Mini or an older device, you can still pocket up to $830.
There is more good news. AT&T extends this deal to both new and existing customers, whether you're adding a new line or not. However, there is a catch: to qualify for the full $1,000 credit, your trade-in value must be at least $230 after considering the device's condition.
T-Mobile
Offering up to $1,000 off any iPhone 15 series on eligible premium Go5G plans, T-Mobile's trade-in deal covers a wide range of devices.
If you own an iPhone 11 Pro or a newer Pro model, you are in luck; you can snag the maximum trade-in value. Even non-Pro models like the iPhone 11 and older devices can net you up to $800 in credit.
What is impressive about T-Mobile's offer is its flexibility for new and existing customers. If you opt for a Go5G Plus or Go5G Next plan, you could get the iPhone 15 Pro for free, thanks to $1,000 off distributed as 24 monthly bill credits. Other plans offer discounts of up to $650, $350, or $200, depending on your choice.
Verizon
Offering up to $830 in credit for iPhone 15 models on select unlimited and 5G plans, Verizon entices new and existing customers to add a line.
If you are considering the top-tier Unlimited Ultimate plan, you could enjoy up to $1,000 off an iPhone 15 model, regardless of your old iPhone's condition.
Trade-in eligibility for maximum credit extends to iPhone XS and most newer models, but even older devices can fetch up to $400 in credit.
Apple's Trade-In Alternatives
If you are wary of long-term commitments or carrier restrictions, Apple offers another route. You can buy an unlocked iPhone directly from Apple, but bear in mind that the trade-in offers are not as lucrative as the carriers offer.
Depending on your device's condition and model, you can receive up to $650 in credit through Apple's trade-in program.
Preorder Your iPhone 15
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are available for preorder directly from Apple starting this Friday.
