Gone are the days when users are left stranded when losing cell service or signal, as Apple offers an improvement on its Emergency SOS via Satellites with the new Roadside Assistance. The iPhone 15 series is the latest set of devices to receive this alongside the iPhone 14 Pro lineup, with the Cupertino company partnering with AAA to provide a unique rescue service.
When Apple released the iPhone 14 Pro, it came with a satellite feature where it could send Emergency texts, but in this case, the company is extending the call for help with better prompts for services.
Apple's Roadside Assistance for the iPhone 15 and MORE
The latest iPhone 15 series may have all the latest tech and features from the company, but among the most important features it brought is the new Roadside Assistance feature. This continues from the previous tech that it delivered for the iPhone 14 Pro, with the Cupertino giant stating the new critical safety capabilities that could help them in a bind.
US-based users may get this new Roadside Assistance to feature available on the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro devices, one that would directly connect them to AAA.
This feature centers on satellite-based connectivity for the user under the Emergency SOS via Satellite, but it improves on it by giving users a set of prompts that could make their situations easier.
Apple, AAA to Respond to Emergency SOS via Satellite
The short questionnaire will ask them what their troubles are including getting locked out of the car, having no fuel or battery charge, flat tire, stuck vehicle, and more. After this, the answers, including one's GPS location, will be shared with AAA via satellite, who will then send a dispatch to help.
This feature will be available for free in the next two years, and is also covered via an AAA membership, but is also available for non-members.
Apple's Emergency SOS via Satellite
Owning a smartphone gives users an expectation that it could do it all, but there are only a few companies that offer satellite connectivity that can help in grievous or emergencies. Apple is one of them, a feature which it initially debuted for the iPhone 14 Pro series only, with the function seeing massive successes as it revolutionized a way to get help.
Different cases and stories have given high praises to the iPhone 14 Pro's Emergency SOS via Satellite, with one centering on a canyon expedition gone wrong in Utah helping these college students contact authorities.
Another was with a hiker who broke their leg while traversing the Trail Canyon Falls in the Angelos National Forest being able to contact emergency services thanks to Apple's satellite feature.
The iconic Emergency SOS via Satellite saw significant importance today, with other tech companies also following suit in this feature, with Apple looking to expand more as previously claimed. This expansion is seen now with its latest partnership with AAA, focusing on the Roadside Assistance that could get users out of a bind despite losing cell signal, for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 series.
