The massive ventures from OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google have opened the floodgates towards the emergence of artificial intelligence, but Elon Musk is not falling behind with xAI. Indeed, Musk is at a slow start now, but his massive reach, influence, and access to data from different industries including Tesla, Neuralink, X, and more would be a massive factor for xAI.
Earlier this year, Musk and other partners launched xAI, another AI company that aims to bring knowledge and information to the world, yet to bring its products to experience.
Elon Musk to Bring Tesla, Neuralink, X Data to xAI
Gizmodo reported that Walter Isaacson of Time Magazine has written a narrative on Elon Musk, as he is featured in a story that explains his current ventures and work. While Tesla, Neuralink, SpaceX, and X are currently operating independently of the other, at some point in the future, the piece claims that it would lead to these merging into one, with the new company being at its center.
July 2023 saw the introduction of xAI, a company under Musk focused on artificial intelligence, to "Understand the Universe," where he is joined by former DeepMind research engineer, Igor Babuschkin.
Isaacson's take on Musk's biography which is set to release later this year shows the "ultimate" goal of the tech executive, with the current problems he is facing being merely hiccups to the master plan.
Will Musk Merge his Companies for xAI?
While this biography of Musk is a massive insight into how his mind works and what is happening at present, it still is not concrete evidence for the future merging of the tech executive's plans for his companies.
XAI is indeed a massive venture for Musk, centering on AI safety which he gave importance to in his work with OpenAI before he left, there is still no confirmation regarding his companies merging into one.
Elon Musk's Tech and AI
About the latest reports on Elon Musk's plans for the future of xAI, there are also discoveries over at X, the revamped social media platform that was originally known as Twitter. In its latest update for its privacy policy, X will collect users' biometric data, employment history, educational background, skills, abilities, job search activity, engagements, and more.
Another controversy surrounding Elon Musk's company is the massive data leak that took place earlier this year, as employees have alleged access to the Sentry videos that the car records. In a report, it was claimed that there were sensitive videos that employees gained access to, including naked people coming to their cars late at night, road rage clips, and more.
In these two companies alone, Elon Musk already has access to massive data of the public that is engaged with X and Tesla's data, information that is already enough to build its xAI. The new company's goal is to "understand the universe," with the AI having a massive scope to different aspects of the world and beyond, but currently remains unknown if it would take Tesla, Neuralink, and X to merge as one.
