The Nintendo Switch OLED has recently been the subject of focus of gamers due to a leak. The company has already released multiple versions of the video game console with different themes, and recently, an industry insider claimed that Nintendo is set to release a new Mario edition of the Switch OLED model.
The Nintendo Switch OLED New Edition Could be Mario-Themed, According to a Popular Leaker
According to Game Rant, the next theme for the Nintendo Switch OLED model could be Mario. This information reportedly came from the well-known insider "Billbil-kun," who revealed some details about it.
These pieces of information include the leaked name and the expected release month of the console. It was reported that a Mario-themed Switch bundle was already released back in March. At the time, Nintendo only included the console's base edition.
The Supposed New Mario-Themed Nintendo Switch OLED Edition Would be Its Fourth Version
According to reports, the Nintendo hybrid console's most expensive variant was reportedly given three different distinct editions since its 2021 debut.
The first was the Switch OLED special edition based on the popular Splatoon 3, CNet reported.
After that, the other popular editions of the Switch OLED were based on the "Pokemon Scarlet" and the "Violet and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom."
The fourth editor, which the insider revealed, would be the Mario theme.
Nintendo Switch OLED Model - Mario Red Edition to Include Red Joy-Cons With Neon Red Colors
According to Billbil-kun, the device would be released soon and be marketed as the Nintendo Switch OLED Model - Mario Red Edition.
The insider further noted that the console could be shipped out with red Joy-Cons in the Neon Red classic shade. The red accents will also reportedly match the docking station and the volume control buttons.
The color is similar to the red shirt of Mario, the Super Mario series title character, who is now one of the most iconic characters in gaming.
The Upcoming Switch OLED Version is Expected to be Priced at $349.99
The insider also revealed that Nintendo is planning to release the new Switch OLED version "before October."
Because August is ending, this might mean that the new console will be launched in September if the leak is true.
It was also reported that the actual reveal might happen soon since a Nintendo Direct was scheduled on August 31. So far, the Japanese gaming giant noted that its next focus would be on "Super Mario Bros. Wonder," making the announcement for the new Mario-themed version of the console possible.
The "Super Mario Bros. Wonder" is set to be launched on October 20. Regarding the price, the insider noted that this console's new version might cost $349.99, and it will likely be available internationally, like all the existing special editions of the Nintendo Switch OLED.
